Download Festival, the greatest rock and metal festival of all time, returns for its 21st edition, reborn and recharged in 2024 as DLXXI. Nu Metal legends Limp Bizkit has been added to the festival bill. This year’s festival will take place on 14-16 June 2024 at the spiritual home of rock in Donington Park, Leicestershire. Hellfest, held every year just outside of Paris, in Clisson, France, continues to up the ante every year with forever growing and impressive lineups! Taking place from June 27 to June 30, 2024, Hellfest will once again be four days long and over 200 bands appearing on six stages. For 2024, the headliners for each night will be Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Metallica, and Foo Fighters. Graspop Metal Meeting, one of the most acclaimed metal festivals in the world has finalized more names for their 2024 new lineup. Final headliner Alice Cooper has joined the bill with 83  other bands for year 27! Bruce Dickinson, Corey Taylor, Deep Purple, Electric Callboy and Megadeth as part of 130+ other bands. CONCERT REVIEW: Megadeth – Biohazard Live at The Grand Sierra Resort

I don’t get to Reno nearly often enough for shows, being that I am based in the Bay Area. But whenever I do, I have a great time. So maybe I should do more of this. And after having seen Ghost kick off their Impera tour in 2022, took me another year and a half to get back here. Shout out to the Grand Sierra Resort, which took excellent care of me, including their hotel manager who struck up a conversation that will stay with me for a long time. He reminded me of DeNiro in the movie Casino, very classy and old-school. I’ve been to this venue a few times to see concerts and the sound is pretty good, and even though the casino crowd is not always a metal crowd, tonight they were.Continue reading →


ALBUM REVIEW: Grove Street – The Path to Righteousness

I was a bit concerned when I got the press materials from Grove Street’s The Path to Righteousness (UNFD) as it stated that these English lads were looking to deliver something that blended elements from Hardcore, Metal, Hip Hop and other nineties buzzwords. Hell, I believe the copy read something like “the Beastie Boys with breakdowns, Pantera with prose,” and suddenly a giant exclamation point jolted out of my head like it was a Hideo Kojima production.
