World Domination is a big old task. Both in terms of, um, well, actually taking over the world, but also in terms of taking everything about the fifth full-length from Norwegian collective Blood Command in. Twenty tracks, and everything from Black Metal to slick pop, via snarling punk, metallic stomping Hardcore, and even the odd pause for breath (though only a sharp intake before heading off somewhere else, into urban beats, or shimmery synths, or kicking someone’s head in).
Kvelertak (Norwegian for ‘Stranglehold’) are one of the more unique offerings hailing from the land of mystical forests and flowing fjords, and are anything but your typical Black Metal band from the region. In fact any hints of the sound are very few and far between on their fifth album Endling (Rise Records), with the influence used sparingly.
Norwegian Blackened Punks Kvelertak has returned! Their new album Endling arrives on September 8 via Rise Records/Petroleum Records. Pre-orders are live at the link below. The band has shared a new single and lyric video for new song “Skonggangr.” Watch it here:
It is always refreshing when metalheads are not afraid to show their appreciation for genres other than Metal – especially if it means expanding their songwriting chops into entirely new territories. Formed by Kvelertak guitarist and bassist Vidar Landa and Marvin Nygaard, Norwegian Power Pop and Indie band Beachheads are more than meets the ear with their sophomore album, Beachheads II (Fysisk Format).
Norwegian retro rockers Kvelertak rebooked new dates for their rescheduled European and UK tours, postponed from 2020 due to the pandemic. The extensive 43-show tour will take place January – March 2022. Joining them on select dates will be Planet Of Zeus, Blood Command, and Astro Saur. Tickets are on sale now for all dates. The band released their stellar album Splid in 2020 and will release in music in 2022.
