ALBUM REVIEW: Rhapsody of Fire – Challenge The Wind


If the quickest way to get from Point A to Point B is a straight line then clearly nobody thought to mention that to Italian Power Metal kings Rhapsody of Fire who to get where they are today obviously took the Enchanted Lands scenic route. This current incarnation of Rhapsody of Fire (version 666.0) might look very different to how it all began but as the fourteenth full-length studio release Challenge The Wind (AFM Records) proves in no uncertain terms, the music and the subject matter remain very much the same. Continue reading


Dominum Share Cover of Scorpions Hit “Rock You Like A Hurricane”


Zombie metal unit, Dominum, are honoring the 40th anniversary of one of Scorpions’ biggest hits, “Rock You Like A Hurricane,” with their symphonic metal cover version. This spring, the band will also join Feuerschwanz and Orden Ogan on the road, and are currently supporting Peyton Parrish on his already partially sold-out European tour. Hellfest 2024 Books Metallica, Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Body Count, Biohazard, Mr. Bungle and More


Hellfest, held every year just outside of Paris, in Clisson, France, continues to up the ante every year with forever growing and impressive lineups! Taking place from June 27 to June 30, 2024, Hellfest will once again be four days long and over 200 bands appearing on six stages. For 2024, the headliners for each night will be Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Metallica, and Foo Fighters. ALBUM REVIEW: Angus McSix – Angus McSix and the Sword of Power

With everyone firmly into the swing of things by now, Saturday’s main stage openers Nailed to Obscurity opened proceedings strongly enough but were promptly blown out of the water by one of the major surprises of the festival – Power Trip. A combination of thrash and early death metal, the Texan act were a blur of riffs and speed, whipping up the early afternoon crowd into an explosive cyclone of energy. Continue reading
