FESTIVAL REVIEW: Sonic Temple Art and Music Festival, Live at Crew Stadium Part 1

Sonic Temple Art And Music Festival returned to Columbus, Ohio for the first time after taking three gap years.

Let’s begin with a little context. The inaugural instance of Sonic Temple was in 2019. Leading up to the event, festival promoter Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP) had discontinued an arrangement with AEG Presents to jointly produce Rock On The Range, the festival in Columbus, Ohio that Sonic Temple replaced. So, Sonic Temple needed to be different enough from Rock On The Range to dispel any raised eyebrows about the move. DWP also broke off ties at about the same time with AEG for their jointly created Carolina Rebellion festival and started a new one in its place called Epicenter. While those moves might have been sound business decisions, it still turned out to be a tough year for DWP festivals.

The festivities kick off with the Rocklahoma campgrounds opening on Sunday, August 27 and music performances get underway at the official Rocklahoma pre-party on Thursday, August 31. Louder Than Life Festival has announced its lineup for 2022, seeking to top the epic edition in 2021. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot and KISS will headline the festival of 100 artists over 4 days! Welcome to Rockville has announced their 2022 headliners for their return to the festival! Returning to a spring event schedule, the fest taking place at Daytona Motor Speedway from May 19th to 22nd will feature KISS, Korn, Guns N Roses, and Foo Fighters each night of the fest! Early bird tickets are on sale now! This years’s fest features headliners Metallica (twice) Slipknot, who performed last night to close the first the day and Disturbed with many other bands. Mudvayne, Atreyu, Crown The Empire, and Afterlife Added to Voragos Cruise and Destination Festival

Voragos: Destination Lunasea Beach has announced Mudvayne, Atreyu, Crown The Empire, and Afterlife to the lineup for the private island festival and 5-day rock cruise coming in early 2022. The recently reunited Mudvayne (who continues to partner with Danny Wimmer Presents for their first live performances after a 12-year hiatus), Atreyu, Crown The Empire and Afterlife. Mudvayne will play both on board and at Lunasea Beach and will replace Chevelle who regrettably have to cancel their VORAGOS Lunasea Beach appearance due to a conflict with their upcoming touring schedule. All other previously announced acts will be appearing, including Rob Zombie, Mastodon. and more.
