Lamb Of God Books Dethklok, Chimaira, Poison The Well, At The Gates, Soulfly, COC and More for Headbangers Boat’ 2024


 

Modern metal legends just concluded their debut voyage of their Headbangers Ball Cruise, and now have announced the first bands booked for the 2024 edition. Sailing on the Norwegian Gem ship and cruising to the Dominican Republic, the 2024 cruise will feature Lamb Of God, along with Dethklok, Chimaira, Poison The Well, At The Gates, Soulfly, Corrosion of Conformity and many more. The full lineup so far is below but the exact dates of the cruise are not yet announced. The cruise is organized by Sixthman (Chris Jericho, Coheed and Cambria cruises), which is in partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line. There will also be an appearance by Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton’s solo band, as well as stand-up comedy by Shayne Smith and Mike Abrusci. Watch the announcement now by D. Salem, Massachusetts modern metallers Carnivora is a band Ghost Cult has been following for many years and through several incarnations. The band has continued to grow and improve while keeping what makes them, them for a lack of better verbiage. They have always placed an importance on monster riffs, deep grooves and generally short blasts of fun metal tracks that don’t overstay their welcome. Chimaira Singer Mark Hunter Undergoes Successful Surgery for Thyroid Cancer


Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter recently announced he had been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, followed by an outpouring of support and love from the music community. Mark posted today from his bed at The Cleveland Clinic, post-surgery that he is doing well, it was a success and even weathering the ordeal with a sense of humor. Chimaira Singer Mark Hunter Has Announced He Has Thyroid Cancer


 

Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter has been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. The Ohio-based musician revealed his diagnosis in a Facebook post earlier today (Thursday, August 1). Hunter is being treated at the world-famous Cleveland Clinic and is having a surgery in under two weeks, followed by radiation treatments. We love Mark and hope he kicks cancer’s ass and gets well soon!

“Hello friends. There’s no easy way to say it. I have thyroid cancer.

“Last year during a physical, my doctor discovered a large mass in my neck. I had two fine needle biopsies, but the results were inconclusive.

“A week ago, I had half of my thyroid removed so doctors could better test the tumor. The results were positive for apillary cancer- the most common of thyroid cancers. Luckily, it also has a high cure rate. There is no known cause for this type of cancer, but it’s likely genetic. There weren’t any symptoms either.

Documentary About Mental Health Featuring Mark Hunter Of Chimaira Coming Soon


In honor of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, Down Again, a documentary about mental health featuring Mark Hunter of Chimaira will get a worldwide release. Although not a film strictly about Mark’s time as the frontman of Chimaira, it does include music and scenes from his life in music. Hunter will share his personal story about utilizing his art to battle personal struggles and bipolar disorder in the film. Directed by Nick Cavalier – also recognized for directing Derek Hess’ award-winning Forced Perspective documentary – and will be free and available to stream at the link below. Andols Herrick Bows Out Of Chimaira Reunion Show, Gives Update On His Health


Andols Herrick, one of the preeminent drummers of the New Wave of American Metal for his time with Chimaira in the early 2000s, has had to step down from his original plan to play Chimaira Christmas 15. The band used to play hometown shows at the end of every year for the majority of their career, but after a few years of hiatus, the full classic lineup of the band was to reunite this week for the show. Herrick has been battling declining health for several years and will be replaced for the sold-out show on December 30th, at the Agora Ballroom by Austin D’Amond, the most recent drummer for the band.
