Industrial metal project Verona on Venus, led by former DevilDriver guitarist Michael Spreitzer, debuted the new track “Even Hell” live, offering the first taste of their upcoming second album. Check it out now.
Verona on Venus was formed by Mike Spreitzer as an outlet to explore a darker, more unsettling side of music than his decade-long tenure as guitarist in DevilDriver allowed. In late 2024, he stepped down from DevilDriver entirely to focus on the project full-time. The band features a new lineup of Austin D’Amond on drums, formerly of DevilDriver and Chimaira, alongside guitarists Jeremy Kohnmann and Lucas Kanopa, and bassist Austin Monzon, also of Thrown Into Exile. Spreitzer himself handles vocals, guitar, bass, and programming.
The project’s debut full-length, Popular Delusions, was released on January 19, 2024, featuring nine tracks, including singles “Rodent” and “Monarch Acid Test,” as well as a cover of Acid Bath’s “The Bones of Baby Dolls.” A second album is currently in the works, with “Even Hell” offering the first preview of what is to come.
