Korn will headline Australia’s traveling touring festival Good Things 2024. The festival is set to take place over three dates later this year in December in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. Frank Cannino (Scrape, Scar Culture, Nemacyte) Has Passed Away, GoFundMe Launched
Sad news to report as longtime New York City metal musician and bassist Frank Cannino has passed away, suddenly according to posts from family and friends on social media. No cause of death has been revealed. Frank was a member of Scrape, and Scar Culture who had several releases on Century Media Records, including a split with Krisiun. More recently, he was in Nemacyte, featuring former members of Scar Culture and other area bands. A GoFundMe has been launched to help Franks’ family, which you can donate to at the link below. Thanks to his bandmate Dimitry Borisov for sending in some candid photos of Frank. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans at this time. Continue reading
Wormrot Reunites Their Classic Lineup, New Music Coming in 2025
In a surprising announcement, Grindcore legends Wormrot have reunited with their classic lineup! In a post to social media, the band has welcomed back drummer Fitri, who has been out of the band since 2015, and vocalist Arif, who quit in 2022. Guitarist Rasyid is still with the group, rounding out the trio. They also promised new music in 2025, making it an early pick for one of the most anticipated metal releases, next year. ALBUM REVIEW: Kingcrow – Hopium
Hailing from Rome and with a name inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s poem Raven is Kingcrow, after a six-year gap between albums they are back with Hopium (Season of Mist). Theirs is an emotive brand of Prog Rock but the Metal of the previous album The Persistence, has been dialled down with atmospheric, ambient, Electronic, and Alt Rock elements playing a larger part. CONCERT REVIEW: Death to All – The Scream of Perseverance Tour – Live at Gramercy Theatre
On May 23rd and 24th, The Gramercy Theatre in New York City became a haven for death metal as Death to All, alongside Cryptopsy, and Morbid Cross, delivered an unforgettable two-night performance. The Gramercy Theatre, with its intimate setting and excellent acoustics, proved to be the perfect venue for this historic event. The Scream of Perseverance Tour paid homage to the legacy of the late Chuck Schuldiner and his band Death, celebrating the first album Scream Bloody Gore and the band’s last The Sound of Perseverance. ALBUM REVIEW: Alleviate – DMNS
The two (not entirely insignificant) selling points for Alleviate and their new album, DMNS (Arising Empire) are that the musicians all have credits from other bands and the music is Metalcore, but it’s also technical, has Deathcore influences, and is able to blend all of this together into a forceful display.Continue reading
