Far was one of the most underrated bands of the 90s, so this is the ghost that will forever haunt the solo work of Jonah Matranga, the band’s former singer.  With Onelinedrawing’s new album RAINBOWMACHINE (Iodine Recordings), it is still hard not to gravitate towards the moments that sound like his old band. American Singer-Songwriter and Acting Icon Dolly Parton, Has Died

The stage lights dim today all over the world as music icon Dolly Parton has died. She was 80 years old. News of her passing was shared in a video message from her nephew, with Dolly’s blessing. She was reportedly in ill health in the last few years. An iconic force in music, acting, pop culture, and philanthropy for six decades. Her passing follows her beloved husband and manager, Carl Dean, who died in 2025 after almost 60 years of marriage. Transcending Country music to Gospel, Blues, Musicals, and Rock, she crossed ages and other boundaries with her voice. She was increasingly philanthropic towards the end of her life, focusing on children’s care and quality of life, fighting cancer, education, and COVID relief in Tennessee. Writing over 3000 songs in her lifetime, she has been the recipient of nearly every music award possible, including the Country Music Hall of Fame, The Grand Ole Opry, Songwriters Hall of Fame, The Grammy Hall of Fame (for “I Will Always Love You”) Gospel Hall of Fame, Musicians Hall of Fame, and her 2022 induction into The Rock And Roll Fame. Following her Rock Hall honor she put out an album of Rock covers with collaborators and songs by Rob Halford of Judas Priest, John 5, Duran Duran, Melissa Ethridge, Lizzo, Nikki Sixx, Pat Benetar and Neil Giraldo, Prince Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Sting, Journey, Heart, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Bob Seger, The Rolling Stones, Richie Sambora, Peter Frampton, Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Brandi Carlisle and more. RIP Queen. Legendary Brooklyn Metal Club Saint Vitus Bar to Return in a New Location This Fall

Over two years since being shut down in the middle of a show by the New York City Department of Buildings, Saint Vitus Bar will return to Brooklyn this fall in a new location. The new venue will be at 428 Troutman Street in Bushwick, the site of the old Brooklyn Made club, which closed in 2025. After a lot of teasing on social media leading up to the reveal, with a series of videos where Günther, the mascot/mannequin, left the bar at the old Greenpoint location on Manhattan Avenue and Clay Street, leaves his former home and sojourns to his new one. You can watch the last video in the series, which has him arriving at 428 Troutman and going inside, below.

Dubbed the “home of metal” in NYC, if not the USA, by Ghost Cult in our post-mortem about the closure, we are stoked to see it return!

Clem Burke, Iconic Punk Rock and New Wave Drummer for Blondie, Has Died

Clem Burke, the drummer for Blondie, has died after a private battle with cancer. He was just 70 years old. Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein of Blondie announced Burke’s death on social media on Monday. “It is with profound sadness that we relay news of the passing of our beloved friend and bandmate Clem Burke following a private battle with cancer,” Harry, 79, and Stein, 75, said in a statement on the official Blondie instagram page. “Clem was not just a drummer. He was the heartbeat of Blondie,” they continued. “His talent, energy, and passion for music were unmatched, and his contributions to our sound and success are immeasurable.” In addition to Blondie, Burke Burke briefly played the drums for Ramones in 1987. He also played with music legends such as David Bowie, Bob Dylan Eurythmics, Ramones, Bob Dylan, Bob Geldof, Iggy Pop, Joan Jett, Chequered Past, the Fleshtones, the Romantics, Dramarama, the Adult Net, the Split Squad, the International Swingers, L.A.M.F., Empty Hearts, Slinky Vagabond and the Go-Go’s. many rockers took to social media to pay tribute to him. Watch Nirvana Reunite with St. Vincent, Kim Gordon, Joan Jett, and Violet Grohl At the Fire Aid Benefit

Last night was night one of the Fire Aid Benefit to raise money for victims of the recent devastating California Wildfires. Among the star-studded performers at the arena was the surviving members of Nirvana, performing a mini-set of mostly deep cuts and hits. Filling in on guest vocals and guitars were St. Vincent, Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Joan Jett, and Violet Grohl. This was also Dave Grohl’s first performance and official public appearance since his family issues, last year. Nirvana has reunited a few times over the years since the death of Kurt Cobain, including with Joan Jett twice for their Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction.
