As promised, Maryland Deathfest has shared its first announcement of bands for its 2024 festival return. Bloodbath, 1349, Coffins, Broken Hope, Skinless, Sacrifice, Carpathian Forest, Tankard, and more head up a killer lineup so far with many US-exclusive appearances. On hiatus for 2023, the festival is scheduled to take place May 23rd to 26th, 2024 in Baltimore, Limited early-bird tickets for the event will be available via the fest’s ticketing partner Eventbrite on Friday, January 27 at 11 AM EST.
After their biggest year ever this year, Hellfest 2023 has booked headliners Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden, and Slipknot! Set to take place June 15-18, 2023 In Clisson, France, the bill also includes Def Leppard, Pantera, Porcupine Tree, Amon Amarth, Alter Bridge And Within Temptation, and more! Headliners for the 2022 edition of Hellfest included Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Judas Priest, Deftones, Ghost, Scorpions, and Korn over two long weekends to make up for the missed pandemic year of 2020.
Three of the most legendary names in Black Metal will unite for an unforgettable event at next summer’s Beyond The Gates Festival in Norway! Emperor, Mayhem and Enslaved will perform at Grieghallen MCMXCIV as part of the fest with full-album performances of their classic works; Mayhem’s De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Emperor’s In the Nightside Eclipse, and Enslaved’s Vikingligr Veldi. All three monumental albums were recorded in the legendary Grieghallen Studios in Bergen. Norwegian black metal masters 1349 have shared a new music video for their track ‘Dødskamp’. The track was originally recorded in conjunction with the Edvard Munch museum and will appear on the band’s new record, ‘The Infernal Pathway.’ The clip, which was filmed and edited by Carl Eek Torgersen / Necrolust Productions at Inferno Festival 2019 in Oslo. Their new album Infernal Pathway is due out on October 18th via Season Of Mist! The record was recorded in Amper Tone studios and Studio Nyhagen with engineer Jarrett Pritchard earlier this year. The band previously announced a North American headline tour dates for this fall, in which they will be supported by Uada and Cloak. The trek will kick off on October 25 in Jacksonville, FL and will conclude on November 16 in Atlanta, GA. Continue reading
As far as large multi-day fests go, Psycho Las Vegas is still pretty wet behind the ears having only just had their fourth annual incarnation this August but already it has begun growing into what will likely continue to be the summer juggernaut of partying and music. New this year, to the dismay of many, was the location change from the off the strip and perfectly themed haunt, The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, to the megaplex that is Mandalay Bay. Gone is the feeling of a true fest take over and in its place, a sprawling amalgamation of “psychos” and people from any town USA or abroad there simply to gamble, throw pre-wedding bashes, get drunk or maybe attend a conference (*ahem* “conference”). Once everyone got their bearings and navigated through this corporate mega casino/hotel/shopping mall, pushed back a few drinks or whatever preferred substances they were into, and found the locations of the four stages, the complaining ebbed and instead, people experienced the fest for what it is.
