Housecore Records Recording Artists Nest, Child Bite, and Snafu To Open Select Pantera and Lamb of God Shows Next Month

Heavy metal icons Pantera will return to the stage this February on the second leg of their North American headlining tour with special guest, Lamb Of God. Much like last Summer’s run, each show will feature an opening performance by one of three Housecore Records recording artists on select dates. Housecore Records was founded by Pantera frontman Philip H. Anselmo in an effort to release material by his many side projects and from other bands he’s supported throughout his career. Joining this leg of the tour will be St. Louis-based metal trio and recent Housecore Records signees Nest, featuring Scour/Agoraphobic Nosebleed bassist John Jarvis, as well as two Detroit juggernauts – art punk/noise metallers Child Bite and hardcore punk/thrashers Snafu (Situation Normal All Fucked Up) — both of which opened for Pantera in 2023.Continue reading

CONCERT REVIEW: Battlecross: 7th Annual Battle Christmas with Child Bite – Shit Life – Nethergate Live at The Token Lounge

‘Tis the season for fun festivities and what better way to get in the spirit of things than to attend Battlecross‘ 7th Annual “Battle Christmas.” The much-beloved band hosts a cheery evening with other great groups making it a highlight of this time of year. Hundreds gathered on the west side of Detroit last Friday to join the party. Resting between two Detroit burbs, The Token Lounge is a comfortable-sized venue that has been enjoyed for over fifty years. Hosting a wide variety of acclaimed acts, this delightful destination is a local favorite to catch a show and was the perfect place to host Battlecross’ extravaganza. Not only was this their much-anticipated annual get-together, but it was also their last show before going on an indefinite hiatus.  Continue reading

LIVESTREAM REVIEW: Scour – Shock Narcotic

Last Friday (1/29/21) I got to check out the live stream from Housecore bands Scour and Shock Narcotic. Both of these groups are “supergroups” but I’m not going to get into that right now. I will say though that the list of bands that make up the background for each band are some of my favorites so I was kinda excited for this show.
