After a successful return of Milwaukee Metal Festival in 2023, the iconic midwestern, multi-day event is now revealing 19 more bands and daily schedules for the highly anticipated 2024 edition, with more TBA! To celebrate this absolutely stacked lineup, Milwaukee Metal Fest is extending early bird tickets through December 11, 2023!
The blackest wave of black metal will undoubtedly come from a act whose name speaks for itself: Abbath will play the songs of Immortal! All fans of the dark genre will also enjoy Triumph Of Death, who, led by Tom G. Warrior (Triptykon, Celtic Frost), will once again play the songs of the legendary Hellhammer. The strongest Norwegian wave with an inimitable style will come with the underground cult Tulus and the personally connected Khold, experimental and avant-garde tones with Dødheimsgard / DHG and Ved Buens Ende, and the Nidrosian-connected Darvaza will put on a wild show. Milwaukee Metal Fest has announced the dates May 17th to 19th for its 2024 edition, with a pre-party May 16th. Now run by Jamie Jasta (Hatebreed, Kingdom of Sorrow) and Sound Talent Group‘s Tim Borror, the event this year featured Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Biohazard, Machinehead. Incantation is one of the most influential death metal bands of all time. This legacy rests on the shoulders of guitarist John McEntee, who is the sole original member. To his credit, McEntee has been playing with the rest of the band long enough to build the kind of chemistry to make this feel like Incantation even in the absence of Craig Pillard, who went on to form Disma.

Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly has announced its flagship event for 2023, taking place once again at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. Taking place April 14-15, 2023, co-headlining the festival are Suicidal Tendencies (performing a special 40th anniversary set of the S/T album + hits) and the return of The Black Dahlia Murder. Joining them will be EyeHateGod, Incantation, Mizmor, Frozen Soul, All Out War, Undeath, and more! Tickets go on sale this Friday October 21st, 2022.
Death metal has been a constant in my life for well over 30 years (yes, I’m a bit old). Within that time frame Incantation and Nile have been an integral part of that genre and have consistently released album after killer album. So, when they announced The Age of Vile Divinities Tour, I knew I couldn’t miss it. The openers for this tour are Dallas, Texas I Am, and Columbus, Ohio’s Sanguisugabogg– both new up and comers to the metal scene.
