The title track blends thrash and melodic death metal with aggressive riffs and brutal, fast-paced rhythms. The EP closes with a cover of Megadeth’s “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due,” a choice that makes the band’s influences clear without spelling them out.

Formed in 2007, Thanatotic Desire functions as something of an underground supergroup, drawing members from some of the East Coast’s most respected thrash outfits. Guitarist Jason Trenczer plays in Generation Kill, the crossover thrash band fronted by Exodus vocalist Rob Dukes. Vocalist and bassist Will Winton also plays in the classic New Jersey thrash act Whiplash. Together with guitarist Anthony “Mace” Capozzi and drummer Sam Levitine, the band blends thrash aggression with melodic death metal precision and heavy, low-tuned riffs.

The vinyl pressing is limited to 100 copies and is available directly from the Thanatotic Desire store at thanatoticdesire.com. A standard CD is also available.

Catch Thanatotic Desire live at Milwaukee Metal Fest on Friday, June 5th, at The Rave and Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sharing the stage with a reunited Acid Bath, Obituary, Agalloch, Death Angel, Incantation, and Vio-lence. The band then hits Metaljuana Fest at The Meadows in Brooklyn, NY, on July 18th, and Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ, on August 22nd with Eastblood.
