According to a published report from Billboard, most charges against Marilyn Manson in his Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Cases have been dropped. This according to a statement from new Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman. He decided the statute of limitations had expired and that there wasn’t enough evidence to land a conviction. There are apparently still a few open cases, and this doesn’t prevent future civil cases and judgements from proceeding. This comes four years after Manson’s home was raided by sheriffs and they built a huge case against him in the meantime, including apparent new evidence submitted last fall, now abandoned. Manson had to pay $325,000 In Evan Rachel Wood’s legal fees last fall
during Manson’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against her, now dropped. Marilyn Manson – real name Brian Warner – has been battling various legal issues. Read the statement below.Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Dead Posey – Are You In A Cult
With Halloween upon us, and Instagram beginning to fill with girls sporting a Vampira look for their selfies, it begs the question what is Goth? The answer might not be revealed in Dead Posey’s new album Are You In a Cult (Self-Released), but this duo is banging out some fun-filled arena rock that has more in common with The Pretty Reckless than it does Siouxsie and the Banshees. The album is full of catchy choruses and frontwoman Danyell Souza sings about creepy things, but it packs the kind of punch that would be more at home at the Welcome to Rockville fest than, opening for The Cure. FESTIVAL REVIEW: Bloodstock Open Air Part 2 – Live at Catton Hall
SATURDAY:
After I visit the bust of Lemmy in the RAM Gallery, Brazilian death metallers Crypta are in full flow on the main stage, tearing through the likes of “Lift the Blindfold” and “From the Ashes”, casually stripping away any vestiges of third-day fatigue. And if that wasn’t the perfect wake-up call, then there”s always Bay Area thrashers Forbidden who blast through the likes of “Forbidden Evil,” “Twisted Into Form,” and “Step By Step” aided by summer recruit Dan “Chewy” Mongrain of Voivod. A great show, although a time overrun means we are deprived of the classic “Chalice of Blood.”Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Mister Misery – Mister Misery
Right from its earliest days, metal has walked hand in claw with the horror genre. Often supported by costumes, props and a general Grand Guignol-style theatricality, a veritable plethora of acts have walked this same dark, bloody road over the years, many still continuing to do so.Continue reading
