Watch Fan-Filmed Video of Slipknot Kicking Off Their 25th Anniversary Tour, New Masks, New Jumpsuits, Set-List and No Material Written After 1999 Played

Slipknot kicked off their 25th anniversary “Here Comes The Pain” tour tonight, Tuesday, August 6th, in Noblesville, Indiana at the Ruoff Music Center. As promised the band performed the entire self-titled debut album and only tracks released before 1999. Some of the tracks have not been performed in years, or in some cases, over two decades. The tour also marks the first full national tour dates with Eloy Casagrande on drums, and the unknown replacement for Craig Jones, who has retired. Vocalist Corey Taylor issued a statement prior to the show (as filmed by Joshua Toomey): “I’m going to give you a brief warning, nothing you are about to hear tonight was written before 1999.”

ALBUM REVIEW: SECT – Plagues Upon Plagues

Former Cursed frontman Chris Colohan, is the driving force behind SECT’s dark take on Hardcore. Colohan might not be the band’s most well-known member (which would be Fall Out Boy’s drummer Andy Hurley), but regardless, it’s Colohan’s voice that sets apart their new album, Plagues Upon Plagues (Southern Lord) from the current resurgence of metallic Hardcore bands. When he does begin screaming as the punch of the riffs hits home, it has a greater dynamic impact. Continue reading

To see Knocked Loose, Show Me The Body, Loathe, and Speed there for the Weapon of Choice Tour, is something is incredible to imagine. I have been to that venue many times, and of those, few were sold out. Still, the night was thick with hardcore energy and the venue floor filled up quickly.Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Knocked Loose – You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To

Kentucky Hardcore stalwarts Knocked Loose continue to march forward in their vision of beatdown in the form of their third full-length, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To (Pure Noise). With three absolute banger singles put out before release of the album, the rest of the tracks need to stand out on their own as well, which they do.Continue reading
