Sergio Vega and Deftones Part Ways


Bassist Sergio Vega is no longer a member of Deftones. Vega, who joined Deftones officially in 2009, posted to his popular Instagram account with the news of his departure. The band had shared a new photo minus Vega on social media, sparking speculation. He continues to be a member of Quicksand and has plans for more producing and DJ projects. You see his video below. Deftones will kickoff their long-awaited Notth American tour with Gojira.

Deftones and Belching Beaver Brewing to Release “Beauty School Pilsner” Beer This Week


Deftones have teamed up once again with Belching Beaver Brewing for their ninth beer collaboration inspired by the legendary bands’ albums and songs. The latest release is “Beauty School Pilsner” – taking its name from the track of the same name from their 2010 album Diamond Eyes (Warner Music). The new beer joins current favorite Phantom Bride IPA as well as the 2021 beer Ohms Pale Ale, and others such as Digital Bath Hazy IPA, and Good Morning Beautiful Brown. Rob Zombie, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Gojira, Deftones, Steven Wilson, Chris Cornell (posthumously) and more are among the many bands nominated for the Rock and Metal portion of the 64th Grammy’s Awards, a.k.a. “The Grammy’s.” Typically the Rock and Metal awards are given out in the pre-televised portion of the show, but they are now live streamed. The Recording Academy will present the 2022 GRAMMY Awards on Mon, Jan. 31, on the CBS Television Network(opens in a new tab) and stream live and on demand on Paramount+ from 8–11:30 p.m. ET / 5–8:30 p.m. PT. Prior to the telecast, the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony will be held at the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel(opens in a new tab).

ALBUM REVIEW: Whitechapel – Kin


Turns out those dudes in Whitechapel are going to be alright. About a decade removed from the great Deathcore rush, this Knoxville unit is still putting up strong numbers and successfully exploring beyond the confines of the genre. And if you enjoyed the genre line blurring on 2019s The Valley, well it turns out Kin (Metal Blade) is willing to venture further out into the woods.

Deftones and Gojira’s Tour has Been Postponed Until 2022


Rough news as the highly-anticipated tour from Deftones, Poppy and Gojira has been postponed until spring 2022. Poppy will now be unable to join the rescheduled dates as well. Deftones posted a message to their social media that it could not be helped as the bands want to ensure they perform every date scheduled. Livenation will reach out to ticket holders to work out refunds if you cannot make the new dates. New dates have been added for Las Vegas, Cincinnati, Nashville, and they go on sale Friday, 7/16 @ 10AM local time at the link below. Deftones continue to tour behind their acclaimed album Ohms (Warner Records).

As the release of The Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack looms this week, Friday, June 18th, via Loma Vista Recordings (physical LPs out July 16th), there is a new single and visualizer out to feast your ears and eyes upon. Masterminded by Executive Producer Tyler Bates along with Health and Chino Moreno of Deftones have released “Anti-Life” from the album!
