Regarding psych rock, I have heard some of the best bands ever. They seem to come primarily from every place except for America. I have seen amazing bands from Sweden, Finland, Germany, and Spain. For the first time, I’m hearing a band from Cape Cod, South Africa. Graspop Metal Meeting, one of the most acclaimed metal festivals in the world has finalized more names for their 2024 new lineup. Final headliner Alice Cooper has joined the bill with 83 other bands for year 27! Bruce Dickinson, Corey Taylor, Deep Purple, Electric Callboy and Megadeth as part of 130+ other bands. The fest takes place from Thursday 20 June through Sunday 23 June 2024 at Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, November 25th at the link below.

ALBUM REVIEW: Eldovar – A Story Of Darkness And Light
Not content to just let the sludgy boi/spooky girl pairings have all the fun with multi-artist collaborations in Doom, A Story Of Darkness And Light (Stickman Records)features the coming together of Elder and Kadavar as Eldovar (I don’t know where that ‘o’ comes from either). The two groups certainly make for interesting bedfellows; while both are arguably rooted in Seventies Rock traditions, Elder has evolved to Heavy Prog splendor while Kadavar largely subsists on off-the-cuff Stoner Blues. However, their shared interest in various genre experiments as well as established track records of high quality material gives plenty of fertile ground for such a union.
Swedish Rockers Hällas Have Signed a Worldwide Contract with Napalm Records
Retro Psychedelic rockers from Sweden, Hällas, have long been a hidden treasure known to the European crowds for their work on the fest scene. Now they have signed a new worldwide record deal (excluding Nordics) with Napalm Records. The band begins a new European tour on March 12, 2020 supporting Kadavar! don’t fret! Their new album, Conundrum, comes out in Scandinavia on January 31. The album will also see release internationally via Napalm Records this spring.Continue reading
