Mutants Of The Monster Fest will return in 2024 to Little Rock, AR from May 16-18! The multi-day festival will take place in the Argenta Arts District and has revealed the first wave of bands, which features John Garcia (Formerly of Kyuss), Weedeater, Telekinetic Yeti, Rebematic, Spirit Adrift, Deadbird, Fistula, Flummox and more to be announced! With Lucifer releasing albums of a consistent style at a workman’s pace, it’s easy to overlook the underlying trajectory that’s been gradually in motion. There’s not much of those Occult Doom roots left on Lucifer IV (Century Media Records) as the band has seemingly completed their transformation from female-fronted Uncle Acid to what sounds like Karen Carpenter singing over KISS riffs. Dead Kennedys Added To Final 2019 Muddy Roots Music Festival Lineup


Political Punk legends Dead Kennedys have been added as a last-minute addition to Muddy Roots Music Festival. The group, featuring members Klaus Fluoride, East Bay Ray, Ron “Skip” Greer, and D.H. Peligro, will hit the Muddy Roots Truck Stage in Cookeville, Tennessee on Saturday, August 31st. Dead Kennedys join a wide-ranging lineup from punk, metal, roots music, and even some hip-hop fans squeal in unified delight. This year’s event, which will take place from August 30th to September 1st, boasts sets from almost 80 bands, including appearances from MC50, the new incarnation of Wayne Kramer’s MC5, and GZA of Wu-Tang Clan fame who will perform with a live band. The MC50 band includes Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Billy Gould (Faith No More), and Marcus Durant (Zen Guerilla). GZA’s backing band is led by Ramsey Jones, older brother of the late ODB of the Wu-Tang Clan. John Garcia and Nick Oliveri, both formerly of Kyuss will appear with their respective new projects, California punk band Face to Face, Fishbone, alt-country outlaws like Sarah Shook & The Disarmers and Mike and The Moonpies, Possessed By Paul James and The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band and many more. I had to take a moment when Desertfest New York was announced. I only had gotten to experience a real European Festival once in the last few years of my life and it was a game changer. Yet, I had yet to enjoy a Desertfest yet. The excitement I felt getting have this festival come practically to my backyard, and into two clubs I visit with regularity was just icing on the cake. Orange Goblin Announce US Headline Tour


Stoner Doom Metal greats Orange Goblin have announced an extensive US tour. It will be their first US tour in five years and includes select stops in NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas and an appearance at The Muddy Roots Festival in Cookeville, TN. Weedeater will now be joining the band as direct support in Chicago at Thalia Hall, with Black Cobra, The Skull, Mothership and Wo Fat on other dates, with more to be announced soon.
