ALBUM REVIEW: Thou – Umbilical


As the summer in the Northern Hemisphere approaches, I always find a nice doom or sludge album really sets the mood for a day of yard work, or just sitting on the deck with a cold beer. Gel Announce Fall Headlining Tour with MSPAINT, Destiny Bond, and The Mall

2024 is shaping up to be a huge year for NJ hardcore heavyweights, GEL. The band recently joined Blue Grape Music, shared plans for their EP, Persona (due out August 16th), and released a roaring new single, “Mirage.” Today GEL are announcing a massive North American headlining tour in support of the record with support from MSPAINT, Destiny Bond, and The Mall. That’s in addition to their already scheduled UK/EU tour that starts this week, which includes festival appearances at Primavera Sound, Download, Roskilde, and more. Militarie Gun Books Their First-Ever Headline Tour of Australia


Los Angeles-based punk band Militarie Gun are hitting the road this June & July playing their first-ever headline shows in Australia. Their Winter 2024 tour to the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Barwon Heads, Newcastle and Sydney. If this news wasn’t exciting enough, the band announces their headline tour with a double support line-up at each show. Special guests Blindgirls and Shock Value will join the tour at the Gold Coast and Brisbane shows, Geld and Human Noise are set to join in Melbourne and Barwon Heads, and dust and Antenna will provide support in Newcastle and Sydney. Ghost Cult Keefy caught up with guitarist David Gantt and vocalist Dustin Mitchell, of North Carolina’s Brutal Hardcore/Deathcore/Rap Metal band Filth! We discussed their new album Southern Hostility! The guys chatted about their new album, how the band formed as a side project from another band, filming their new music video for the track “Martyr” at Ground Zero Club in Spartanburg South Carolina, opening for bands like Hatebreed, Terror, Lorna Shore, The Acacia Strain, Slaughter to Prevail, Brand of Sacrifice, Kingdom of Giants, and Chelsea Grin, why Kenny Powers is a great ambassador for the south, Sheetz versus Buc-ee’s, and more!
