Download Festival will return for 2021, featuring headliners KISS, Biffy Clyro, and System Of A Down and many more bands including A Day To Remember, Mastodon, Control The Storm, Gender Roles, Jamie Lenman, Myles Kennedy & Company, Deftones, Korn, The Distillers, Steel Panther, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, The Darkness, Black Veil Brides, Creeper, Alestorm and The Pretty Reckless. Seventy-three bands in all have been announced! Tickets go on sale on August 7th at 9 AM GMT. More bands have yet to be announced. Next month will be three years since Chester Bennington ended his life. On what would have been Chris Cornell’s 53rd birthday, not only a fellow musician, but also his best friend and Godfather to his son, he took his life. It has been three years and the sadness persists. Bennington’s struggle with depression and substances was a public affair and through his lyrics, it felt like we knew what he was going through. An exceptional vocalist he fronted a band that dove into multiple genres. Either you liked Linkin Park or you hated them. Download 2020 Recast as a Virtual Festival with Iron Maiden, System of A Down, KISS and More
Download Festival was one of the first major festivals in the heavy music work canceled due o the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Now we are getting a virtual festival set to take place. Mark off June 12-14 for some prime rock and metal viewing, with many top acts taking part. The Download TV weekend will be split into day and evening programming, with tailor-made shows featuring Iron Maiden, System of a Down and KISS leading the way. KISS will headline the Friday (June 12) festivities, with a replay of standout moments from their huge 2015 headline set. Iron Maiden head up the Saturday (June 13) programming with nostalgic performances, “Legacy of the Beast” snippets, as well as “something just for Download TV.” And System of a Down will close out the virtual festival on Sunday (June 14) with footage from their performances in 2005, 2011 and 2017. Among the other bands appearing are Alter Bridge, Alestorm, Alter Bridge, Babymetal, Baroness, Bush, Creeper, Deftones, Disturbed, Employed To Serve, Fozzy, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Gojira, Killswitch Engage, Korn,Lacuna Coil, Mastodon, The Pretty Reckless, Twin Temple, Volbeat and more. Bush Announces New Album Details, “The Kingdom” Drops This July
In a new interview with Tucson’s rock station Rock 102.1 KFMA., Bush has announced their new album The Kingdom, will officially arrive on July 17th. Gavin Rossdale described the new music as : “It’s just really heavy and wide and just of the time. It’s really of the time — that’s what I like about it. It feels really necessary — a necessary record. The band’s on fire. It’s just exciting.” Bush has released two singles in the last year: ‘Flowers On A Grave’ and last year’s ‘Bullet Holes’, from the John Wick 3 Parabellum soundtrack. Their last album 2017’s Black And White Rainbows. Bush’s current lineup also includes guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes.
Bush To Release Live Album and DVD “Live In Tampa”
Bush will release a new live album/DVD, Live In Tampa, via Cleopatra Entertainment on April 24th. Performing to a sold-out crowd of 10,000 die-hard fans at the MidFlorida Amphitheater in Tampa during their critically acclaimed 2019 “Altimate Tour”, this 90-minute performance was filmed in 4K UHD with 15 cameras to capture the show from every angle. Helmed by award-winning producer Barry Summers of Rock Fuel Media, the concert features the band’s biggest hits, including “Machinehead”, “Glycerine”, “Comedown”, “Swallowed”, “Everything Zen” and their newest hit song, “Bullet Holes”, from the blockbuster “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” soundtrack. This special edition package includes a Blu-ray disc, a standard definition DVD, and a bonus audio CD of the entire concert. Their new album, “The Kingdom”, will be released this summer.
