2013 saw Ghost Cult crown Surgical Steel (Carcass) as our inaugural Album of the Year in a democratic aggregated vote process, untouched by editorial hands (other than the sliding of the abacus balls from one side to the other – or rather the logging of votes and the use of a rather rudimentary spreadsheet), a format we continue to utilise as the years pass, and the seasons grey. Nine Inch Nails to Replace Foo Fighters at Boston Calling, Full Daily Lineups Revealed


Boston Calling, the acclaimed three-day festival poised to make its triumphant return to Allston, Massachusetts this Memorial Day Weekend, May 27 – 29, 2022, announces its full daily lineup today. Headlining the festival are rock and roll icons Metallica alternative rockers The Strokes, playing their first show in Boston since 2006; and Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers Nine Inch Nails. NIN is replacing Foo Fighters, the orginal headliner. These three powerful rock bands will lead a lineup of over 50 performers, including the largest collection of regional talent ever to take the stage at Boston Calling. The 2022 bill features an incredibly diverse mix of globally recognized music stars, including Rüfüs Du Sol, Weezer, Haim, Run The Jewels, Glass Animals, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Avril Lavigne, Black Pumas, Modest Mouse, Goose, Cheap Trick, Oliver Tree, Earthgang, Orville Peck, The Struts, and many more.

Bonnaroo Festival 2021 Cancels Following Flooding and Heavy Rains from Hurricane Ida 


Tough news for the annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee, as they have been forced to cancel this year’s event, citing flooding from heavy rains. Last year’s event was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. The festival had already lost some featured performers such as Lana Del Ray, Janelle Monáe, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, due to pandemic fears, but has set to host a lineup that still boasted Foo Fighters,  Lizzo, Run The Jewels, Primus, Mastodon, Remiwolf, Tyler The Creator, Deadmaus Uncle Acid And the Deadbeats and many more. The festival, which was to celebrate 20 years this year, was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic and originally, they were not going to allow fans to roll their tickets over to a second year in 2022. Coachella 2020 Confirms Rage Against The Machine, Thom Yorke, Run The Jewels, Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Lana Del Rey and More


Coachella Festival has announced its full lineup for their two weekends of festivals this spring. The mostly Rap and Pop music lineup had already confirmed headliner Rage Against the Machine for April 10th and 17th. Other artists performing April 10-12 and 17-19 includes headliners, and so are Frank Ocean and Travis Scottand Thom Yorke, Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, FKA twigs, DaBaby, Run the Jewels, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Nas X, City Girls, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Idles, Charli XCX, 21 Savage, Disclosure, Big Sean, Carly Rae Jepsen, Yaeji, Snail Mail, Swae Lee, Noname, Caribou (and Daphni), DJ Koze, Calvin Harris, Denzel Curry, Danny Elfman, Cuco, 100 gecs, and Fatboy Slim are among the artists on this year’s lineup. Duck Sauce—the A-Trak and Armand van Helden project—is on the lineup after being inactive since 2014. Japanese digital pop star Hatsune Miku will also perform. Danny Elfman will also perform a set as well. The reunited My Chemical Romance was heavily rumored to appear at the festival, but they’re not on the lineup. Tickets for weekend 1 are already sold out. The pre-sale for weekend two begins on 1/6 and is also expected to sell out.
