Bassist Stefano Franceschini (Hideous Divinity) Quits Aborted to Work on His Phd. Studies


Aborted is down a bassist as we head into 2024. Stefano Franceschini, bassist for the band since 2016, has departed the lineup to pursue his PHD. The group shared a message from Stefano announcing his departure, which is amicable and sounds planned for a while. Aborted kicks off an extensive tour of Europe with Carnifex soon. Dying Fetus and Suicide Silence to Co-Headline The Chaos and Carnage Tour 2023 with Born Of Osiris, Aborted, Sanguisugabogg, Crown Magnetar and Slay Squad


 

The “The Chaos and Carnage”  has announced their dates and lineup for its triumphant fourth run in 2023. Co-headlined by Dying Fetus and Suicide Silence who will rotate closing the show each night, the tour also has special guests Born of Osiris, Aborted, Sanguisugabogg, Crown Magnetar, and Slay Squad. Tickets for the “The Chaos and Carnage”  2023 go on general sale this Friday, January 13 at 10 AM local time with VIP package upgrades available for purchase next Friday, January 20 at 10 AM local time at the link below.

After their biggest year ever this year, Hellfest 2023 has booked headliners Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden, and Slipknot!  Set to take place June 15-18, 2023 In Clisson, France, the bill also includes Def Leppard, Pantera,  Porcupine Tree, Amon Amarth, Alter Bridge And Within Temptation, and more! Headliners for the 2022 edition of Hellfest included Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Judas Priest, Deftones, Ghost, Scorpions, and Korn over two long weekends to make up for the missed pandemic year of 2020.

CONCERT REVIEW: Lorna Shore – Aborted – Ingested – Angelmaker – Ov Sulfer Live at Saint Andrew’s Hall 


 

Saint Andrew’s Hall is one of Detroit’s hot spots for catching a good show. The Live Nation owned venue hosts all genres and caters particularly well  to the heavier ones. Last week, Deathcore sweethearts, Lorna Shore brought their The Pain Remains Tour to town to support their new album. This month-long, stateside run is every ear gauged kid’s dream. With an impressive span of openers to add incentive, there is a reason why this show sold out.

Lorna Shore Books a Headline Tour with  Aborted, Ingested, AngelMaker, and Ov Sulfur


 

Lorna Shore will kick off a run of European tour dates and festivals this coming weekend, as they being the push towards their new album, Pain Remains. The band has also booked a follow-up run of dates – a North American headline tour with Aborted, Ingested, AngelMaker and Ov Sulfur starting on October 21st in Philly and wrapping on November 20th in Montreal. VIP ticket packages will be available to purchase for each show, which will include a ticket to the show, meet and greet with Lorna Shore, an exclusive VIP t-shirt, a souvenir laminate with a lanyard, a signed poster, a tote bag, an enamel pin and early entry. Doom Eternal Game Released, Features “Death Metal Choir” on Soundtrack


Bethesda Games finally released Doom Eternal yesterday, complete with its “Death Metal Choir” recorded last year, by composer Mick Gordon! Of course, the soundtrack album is not yet available to purchase separately, but apparently it will be soon. Apparently, the Collectors Edition of the game will be released at some point with the additional full soundtrack and the soundtrack to Doom 2016. We have followed this news for some time, in which Gordon assembled a tremendous amount of heavy and underground vocal talent including bands such as Static- X, Aborted, Frontierer, Immortal Bird, Vault Dweller, Calvary, Wildspeaker, Black Crown Initiate, Sectioned, Tengger Calvary (RIP Nature G), The World I Knew, The Anchor, and more. Watch The Doom Eternal “Death Metal Choir” Behind the Scenes Teaser


Last year we brought the news of the forthcoming soundtrack to the new Doom Eternal game, coming in a few weeks on 3/20/2020 from Bethesda Games. Composer Mick Gordon recruited a who’s who of metal singers from across genres via open call. Now Gordon has shared a behind the scenes featurette on the creation of the music, which also features a teaser of gameplay as well. The video includes prominent cameos from Tony Campos of Static-X and Asesino, James Dorton of Black Crown Initiate, Lindsay Rae of The Anchor, Wesley Meritt of The World I Knew, Natalie Kahan of Wildspeaker, Sven De Caluwe of Aborted, and Nature G. Ganganbaigal of Tengger Calvary, who passed away a few months after recording this. Other artists from bands participating in the soundtrack included Frontierer, Immortal Bird, Vault Dweller, Sectioned, and many more! Watch the clip now!
