ALBUM REVIEW: Funeral Chic – Roman Candle

My chief concern heading into Funeral Chic’s Roman Candle (Prosthetic Records) is that the name Funeral Chic is very unappealing. It’s objectively a bad name for a band. It feels like a moniker Johnny Depp would give to one of his musical projects. Brings back memories of another Depp-associated collective, Hollywood Vampires. Yeah, I’d like a ticket to go see Jack Sparrow, Joe Perry and golf enthusiast Alice Cooper walk around onstage, Mr. Box Office. Continue reading

Watch Alice Cooper Sing a New Song to Cheer Up Zak Nilsson

Rock legend Alice Cooper wrote and performed a new song to cheer up Zak Nilsson, the son of late Rock and Pop singer Harry Nilsson to cheer him up as he battles end-stage colon cancer. On a recent episode of “Coffee Talk With ADIKA Live”, a YouTube Live show hosted by bassist Stefan Adika and writer and former Rolling Stone contributor Corey Levitan, Cooper surprised Zak with the song. Adika and Leftan connected with Cooper via of Hollywood Vampires — Harry Nilsson’s old drinking club — to see if anyone wanted to send Zak a message after he recently chose to enter hospice instead of continuing treatment. Alice, the founder of the Hollywood Vampires, responded with an original song, surprising Harry during the January 2 “Coffee Talk” episode. Cooper will release his brand new studio album, Detroit Stories, on February 26 via earMUSIC. Continue reading
