Lamassu Releases Their Debut Album – “Into The Empty” Today!


Australian Heavy Rock band Lamassu has released their debut album today! Into The Empty rocks with modern riff-centric Stoner Doom vibes, but the heaviness and songwriting of great acts of yesterday such as Soundgarden, Kyuss, or Alice In Chains! This collective of musicians features members of Motherslug, Field, Borrachero, and Olmeg, all stalwarts of the Melbourne stoner/doom scene. They recorded Into the Empty in late 2018 with producer/engineer/musician Mike Deslandes (High Tension / YLVA) at The Black Lodge Studios in Brunswick, Melbourne. Church of Misery – Atomic Bitchwax – Toke: Live at The Middle East


Walking into The Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I realized I was unintentionally about to bookend a month-ish long tour by attending both the first date (at Maryland Deathfest) and last date of the U.S. run of Japan’s doom masters, Church of Misery. You can’t fault Oregonian sludgesters Lord Dying for compromising on their band name. It’s so Doom-friendly, you could hang yourself off it, right after smoking the carpet because it might be made of hemp.
