Alt-rock legends Local H have shared an awesome cover of 1970s classic Looking Glass’s track “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl” from their forthcoming covers album: Local H’s Awesome Quarantine Mix-Tape #3. The album is releasing October 8th 2021 on Brutal Panda. The album is the third in the series of covers and gives a nod to the mixtapes in Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy! The new album features two different covers of Prince’s “When Doves Cry,” and they’ve also taken on songs from Fountains Of Wayne, Blondie, the Kinks, Mark Lanegan, Eurythmics, and Robert Plant. Soul Asylum has announced a new album, Hurry Up And Wait, via Blue Élan Records. Pre-orders are live at the link below. The band had a huge tour booked with Local-H, including SXSW, but that is now remaining dates are likely canceled or postponed until the fall. The current lineup of the band includes founder Dave Pirner– songwriter/vocals/guitar, Michael Bland-drums, Ryan Smith-lead guitar, and Wynston Roye-bass. Legendary avant-garde metal band Helmet have signed a new record deal with earMusic and will release their first new album in six years. Entitled Dead to The World, the album will release on October 28th.
Failure has announced a fall US tour as they continue to tour behind their June release The Heart is A Monster (InResidnece). Joining the group will be former member Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens Of The Stone Age, A Perfect Circle) who played on their landmark Fantastic Planet album, as well as four songs on the most recent release.
Ken Andrews commented on Troy Van Leeuwen’s return for the tour:
“This is a very special tour to me for a couple of reasons.. One reason is the fact that we have some very cool bands joining us: Hum, Torche, Local H, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. The second reason this tour is so special to me is that we have managed to secure our dear friend and former band mate, Troy Van Leeuwen as the fourth member of Failure for this tour. I’m personally excited by this as it’s going to allow us to expand our live sound and repertoire. Think “Snow Angel” and “I Can See Houses” from The Heart Is A Monster, as well as a few gems from the past like our cover of “Enjoy The Silence.”
Failure has also confirmed appearances at The CMJ Festival, Aftershock Festival, and their Australian live debut an appearance at Soundwave 2016.
Soundwaves Founder AJ Maddah took to Twitter and personally confirmed Failure’s appearance, saying
“Getting Failure to play Soundwave 2015 is my personal definition of success! Fantastic Planet changed my life.”

Los Angeles rock band ÆGES have signed a worldwide recording deal with Another Century (Century Media imprint) and are current recording their new full length album with producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie).
Band vocalist/guitarist Kemble Walters stated:
“We’re all excited to announce our signing to Another Century. We’ve seen what they’ve done with their other artists and can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned for us. We are currently in the studio with Bob Marlette making a slamming record. We definitely didn’t skimp out on the nasty riffs and fat hooks! 2015 has been amazing and 2016 is going to be an even bigger year for us. Believe me when I say ‘we’re all buckled up and ready to roll!’”
