CLASSIC ALBUMS REVISITED: Evanescence’s Debut Album “Fallen” was Released 20 Years Ago

Twenty years ago today (3/4/2003), Evanescence came on the scene with their debut album Fallen (Wind-Up Records) with a bonafide smash success out of the gate. Behind the scenes, there were growing pains for the young band, formed as teens in the mid-1990s. Mainly led by Amy Lee and Ben Moody, along with contributor David Hodges, the band from Little Rock, Arkansas practically exploded on the scene with an unlikely hit song the band was feeling reluctant about. However, it was the rest of the album that coalesced a style that the group ended up forging into a lasting sound they continue to ply to this day. Continue reading →

Newly added to the festival are Halestorm, Neck Deep, Hot Milk, Alter Bridge, Bob Vylan, Electric Callboy, Carcass, Five Finger Death Punch, Palaye Royale, Jinjer, and many more. The full list can be viewed below. Already the fastest-selling event in its 20-year history. Day tickets are on sale now! System Of A Down, Incubus, Korn, Evanescence and Deftones will headline Sick New World Festival, a new music festival in 2023 featuring some of the biggest names in nu-metal. Among the dozens of bands on the bill, it will mark the reunions of both Flyleaf with lacey Sturm and Coal Chamber. The event will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was the site of the recent When We Were Young Festival, that was forced to cancel one day of the fest due to high winds.

EP REVIEW: Cosmic Ninja – Dissident Transmission

Cosmic Ninja has a new EP coming out called Dissident Transmission (Self-Released). Its first track, ‘By Design’ is a wonderful disco-inspired danceable tome. It’s a song ABBA could have done either in the 1970s or now. My favourite lyric is, “…wake up, enough’s enough! kill your masters…” The lyrics of ‘By Design’ and the rest of Dissident Transmission are a strong stand against the corruption of government entities. Dissident Transmission is a wake-up call to those who are angry about how the government is deliberately misleading the citizenry. The lyrics are heavy and in-your-face but the music itself is pop punkish with a new wave feel. Continue reading →


Korn And Evanescence Book a Summer 2022 Co-Headline Tour

Korn has announced a summer tour with fellow rock culture icons Evanescence, produced by Live Nation. Accompanied by special guests varying across select dates, the 18-city tour kicks off on August 16th at Ball Arena in Denver, CO making stops across the U.S. in Boston, Chicago, Houston, and more before wrapping up in Ridgefield, WA on September 16th. Direct support bands will be announced at as later date.
