Blackened Deathgrind is a trifecta of a subgenre that is tailor-made for the backdrop to an album that deals with limitless outer space and the vast uncertainties throughout.

Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Ozzy Osbourne, and Slipknot are The Greatest Metal Bands of All-Time, According to Forbes
Of all the websites in the world, financial magazine and website Forbes has released a list of the top 38 metal bands of all-time. The list actually has no real surprises. All the top most popular bands of all-time are present, topped by Metallica, with virtually no other surprises in terms of major underground bands. In picking their list Forbes wrote that it’s “impossible to include all metal sub-genres in this type of list, the sub-genres that are most prominent and influential across metal today were considered with priority.” They added that all 38 bands were chosen due to having “the most significant impact in the metal genre, and a number of these bands are among the genre’s most famous and revered bands.”

On May 23rd and 24th, The Gramercy Theatre in New York City became a haven for death metal as Death to All, alongside Cryptopsy, and Morbid Cross, delivered an unforgettable two-night performance. ALBUM REVIEW: Aivvass – Spiritual Archives
The occult has a questionable history in Rock music, as it is typically used for window dressing with little substance behind it. Continue reading
ALBUM REVIEW: Maudissez – Maudissez
What Maudissez are able to do with instruments (at least I assume they’re instruments) is unsettling to the nth degree.
The anonymous and self-described anti-Christian blackened sludge-cum-Death/Doom entity doesn’t simply make music; the four tracks featured within Maudissez (Sentient Ruin Labs) are as raw as a mooing filet mignon. Continue reading
ALBUM REVIEW: Miasmic Serum – Infected Seed
With the underground death metal scene continuing to grow at an exponential rate, there’s nothing quite like announcing yourself with a full blown conceptual theme in order to stand out from the rest of the herd. Continue reading
ALBUM REVIEW: Hemotoxin – When Time Becomes Loss
With a name that relates to a substance that can destroy red blood cells and cause serious organ and tissue degeneration, it’s pretty obvious that Californian act Hemotoxin isn’t going to be known for radio-friendly power ballads.Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Atræ Bilis – Aumicide
There are two dead giveaways that Atræ Bilis have something very, very weird in their back pocket.
Released by the continuously boundary-blurring 20 Buck Spin, Aumicide’s cover artwork is something that, let’s just say, probably shouldn’t be focused on too long whilst at work or in a public setting. Continue reading
