FESTIVAL REVIEW: Milwaukee Metal Fest 2024 Part 2 – Live at The Rave

The lineup for Saturday was stacked, in my opinion,  headliner Mr. Bungle left the Milwaukee crowd in awe. Mike Patton is such a great front man so I felt privileged to watch this man perform again.  San Francisco Thrash Metal legends Testament has one of the best performances I had ever seen them give in years. Connecticuts’ own Hatebreed ignited the ballroom with numerous mosh pits throughout their set. Continue reading

21 years. It has been 21 years since the first Maryland Deathfest, which I was fortunate enough to be at. Back then it was a three-day event, but now in 2024, it is four days plus a fifth day for the pre-fest.  And that’s what I’m going to tell you about, the pre-fest for Maryland Deathfest XIX!Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Till the Dirt – Outside the Spiral

In 1991 Alice in Chains landed themselves a place on the Clash of the Titans tour, opening for Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer. Unsurprisingly, a band now synonymous with Grunge wasn’t fully embraced by the largely Thrash-devoted audiences. CONCERT REVIEW: At The Gates – Municipal Waste – Enforced Live at Irving Plaza

Recently renovated classic venue Irving Plaza in New York City is the scene for the finale of the US leg of At The Gates most popular album, Slaughter of the Soul. Enforced opened the night. They’re an interesting group to me. They sound like a mix of Death Metal/Thrash with a some hardcore-tinged vocals. Whatever they’re going for, it’s working for them. I dig it.

FESTIVAL REVIEW: RPM FEST 2022 – Live at Millers Falls Rod and Gun Club

RPM Fest… three days in the woods at Millers Falls Rod and Gun Club in Montague, Massachusetts of Western MA with all of the homies, great food, great drinks, yard games, drag bingo, metal yoga, karaoke, and more metal, punk, and ska music than you can shake a battle vest at. It’s been two years since RPM Fest happened due to the ongoing pandemic. But this year it was able to make its mighty return as the official end-of-summer send-off party that it is known to be, this past Labor Day Weekend.
