ALBUM REVIEW: Face Yourself – Martyr
If you are into breakdowns, ultra-low guitar tunings, breakneck timing shifts, and killer filler in the background, then take a look at the new release from Face Yourself on Sumerian Records. ALBUM REVIEW: Vulvectomy – Aberrant Vaginal Gestation
The Italian band Vulvectomy is back at it with their unique brand of death metal on the new cut Aberrant Vaginal Gestation out on Comatose Music. ALBUM REVIEW: Arch Enemy – Blood Dynasty
Perennial all-stars Arch Enemy are back at it with their twelfth studio offering titled Blood Dynasty (Century Media Records). Guitars are on full blast in every respect, from driving riffage that hits full throttle to solos that divebomb and shred everything in sight, one-second soaring in the clouds and the next stomping holes in the earth. ALBUM REVIEW: Rwake – The Return of Magik
After a thirteen-year break between albums and a hiatus, the band Rwake is back with a new cut titled The Return of Magik (Relapse Records). Sonically, Rwake has always been a band that fits into no specific genre and that is on full display on this newest effort. The musicianship on display only adds to the tremendous songwriting that has this feeling of a grand saga playing out before the listener.Continue reading
ALBUM REVIEW: Fleshbore – Painted Paradise
Today on the block we have the new cut Painted Paradise from Indianapolis’ own Fleshbore. If I had to wrap this new cut in a single word it would probably be “blistering”. Everything on this cut is at an 11 even when they decide to slow it up the listener is sitting with crazy anticipation for the next time the pedal gets stomped on. The drums and guitars scream through each track like crazy ass racecars from hell whose pilots have tossed the brakes aside long ago. (see what I did there lol)! Continue reading
