The fourth installment of Desert Fest NYC has now come and gone. I want to start by thanking the crew, they ran a three-day fest with everything starting on time and limited technical difficulties throughout the fest, they worked their backsides off and it showed.

REVIEW ROUNDUP: King Buffalo, Bog Wizard, Spaceslug, and Dead King’s Peace
King Buffalo – Archeron
Seemingly taking a page from their fellow royals in King Gizzard, Archeron (Stickman Records) is the second album that King Buffalo has released in 2021. This degree of output can make the band’s already prolific discography seem even more muddled, especially since they are so committed to their loose, jammed out take on Heavy Psych. This is the case with Pink Floyd and their iconic double album The Wall. Luckily Magnetic Eye Records and their incredible “Redux” series is here, and they always do a bang-up job of assembling the talent. Covering the entirety of The Wall seems both ambitious and a little crazy too. While The Wall is lower on my personal list of Floyd favorites, it’s as important as it is beloved by the masses. Spaceslug – Eye The Tide
If you want prolific, look no further than Polish psych fiends Spaceslug. This is their third album in four years, all graced by the greatest sleeve covers since Coheed & Cambria found the Milky Way and a monstrous roar that never gets tired.Continue reading
