ALBUM REVIEW: Witchcryer – When Their Gods Come For You


Witchcryer’s second full-length album comes with a noticeably broader scope in comparison to their 2018 debut. In contrast to the more groove-friendly approach to Doom Metal seen on Cry Witch, the song lengths on When Their Gods Come For You (Ripple Music) run longer with a greater emphasis on atmosphere and methodical structuring. The lyrics also work to give the album a more palpable sense of purpose, running the gamut of underworld and death figures from various world mythologies.

PODCAST: Episode 46 – Johnny Galyon of Northwest Hesh Fest


Northwest Hesh Fest is this coming weekend in Portland OR, September 19th – and it looks awesome! Headlined by Red Fang, and featuring appearances by Acid King, Witch Mountain, Big Business, Necrot, Fat Tony, Lord Dying, Nebula, Sasquatch, Holy Grove, and many more. We caught up with Johnny Gaylon, the booker of the fest and past events in Portland and at places such as South By Southwest (SXSW), and we learned about his past history in the scene, just what goes into booking the fest and why downtown Portland rules for events like this!
