Long-running Prog Metal legends Return To Earth have released their new EP, Octavius, via Nashville record label Bald Freak Music. Against their type, Octavius is an ambient electronic music album made only with synthesizers and owing to their love of composers and movie soundtracks. The band released their debut album Captains of Industry in 2007 via Metal Blade Records, and a series of independent releases over the years. Octavius is produced The band features Ron Scalzo, former drummer for Coheed and Cambira, and The Dillinger Escape Plan – Chris Pennie, and Brett Aveni. ALBUM REVIEW: Replicant – Infinite Mortality
Okay, I openly confess, I may have dropped the ball. But what do you mean, you ask? Well, there’s a long laundry list of brain farts on my part so I should clarify. Apologies to a couple of ex-girlfriends beforehand as said list includes my lack of communication. That out of the way, I’m shocked that it took this long for Replicant to come to my attention. This Garden State unit has been around for 10 years so you would think that my decades-long travels on the heavy music highway would have warranted a listen or two. UPDATE 3: The Dillinger Escape Plan has now added a third date with all of the bands from the first two shows on one bill!
UPDATE 2: The Dillinger Escape Plan has now added a second date to their 2024 reunion. Direct support will come from The Callous Daoboys and Deadguy.
The Dillinger Escape Plan will celebrate 25 years of their acclaimed 1999 debut album Calculating Infinity with a reunion show on June 21, 2024 in Brooklyn, NY at the legendary Brooklyn Paramount. The band will play the album in its entirety for the first time ever with co-founder and original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis. Backing Minakakis will be founding guitarist Ben Weinman, as well as bassist Liam Wilson and drummer Billy Rymer. Tickets are on sale Friday, December 15 at 10am ET and will be available at the link below. Car Bomb has shared a poster with them and Candy lsited as openers, but not confirmed by PR.
