Ghost Cult chatted with Milena Eva and Thomas Sciarone of the Dutch band GGGOLDDD to discuss their new album This Shame Should Not Be Mine due out on April 1st, 2022 via Artoffact Records. The pair spent time with us discussing the inspiration for the new album, how they created the album during the early part of the pandemic, their experiences with Roadburn Festival, performing there in the past, being chosen as guest curators for 2022, working with festival founder Walter Hoeijmakers, their plans to perfrom the entire new album live, touring and much more.

Roadburn Announces New Bands Slift +Etienne Jaumet,Die Wilde Jagd, Hangman’s Chair, Årabrot, Huntsman, Lustmord and More for 2022


Roadburn 2022 has today announced another 17 artists for the 2022 edition of the festival, which will take place between April 21-24 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Among the bands booked now includes Slift +Etienne Jaumet, Die Wilde Jagd, Five The Hierophant, Hangman’s Chair, Årabrot, Huntsman, Lustmord and many more. Weekend tickets, and Friday and Saturday day tickets are sold out. Thursday and Sunday day tickets remain in limited numbers. Tickets and accommodation options are available at the link below.

ALBUM REVIEW: Converge – Bloodmoon: I


After the four-year gap since their last studio album, Massachusetts hardcore/metalcore act Converge return with something quite different. A collaborative effort, Bloodmoon: I (Epitaph Records) sees the band joining forces with Chelsea Wolfe, Ben Chisholm plus Cave In singer/guitarist Stephen Brodsky, the seven individuals all contributing to something a little out of their usual comfort zones.

Ghost Cult scratched one off the interview bucket list recently by chatting with Andy Gibbs of Thou! We talked all about Thou’s new collaborative album with Emma Ruth RundleMay Our Chambers Be Full (read our review here), due out on October 30th via Sacred Bones. Roadburn Festival, largely due to the impetus of its main organiser and curator Walter Hoeijmakers, has often acted as a hub for all manner of interesting collaborations between artists who sit in the arty or experimental corners of the heavy music world. Ghost Cult was honored to chat with musician and artist Jacob Bannon of Converge, Wear Your Wounds, and his new band Umbra Vitae. That group just released their debut album, Shadow of Life, (read our review here), a brutal, OSDM flavored album created by Jacob and a group of master musicians and friends such as Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord, WYW) and Sean Martin (Twitching Tongues, ex Hatebreed, WYW) Greg Weeks (The Red Chord, Labor Hex) and Jon Rice (Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, Job For A Cowboy). In a frank discussion with our editor Keefy, Jacob discussed the impact coronavirus has had on the music world and more specifically his bands and his label Deathwish Inc., what are the Death Metal inspirations of the group, how Umbra Vitae came together, how this is a full band and not side-project, the poem that inspired the band name and the entire album, an update on new Converge and WYW music, and much more.
