Roadburn Festival, already the worlds’ foremost underground music festival has named Sleep as the headliner for the 2019 edition of the festival. The band will celebrate with two epic headline sets, performing their classic Holy Mountain one night and their latest release The Sciences (Third Man) the next. Tomas Lindberg of At The Gates (Disfear, The Great Deceiver, ex-Lockup) is the curator of Roadburn 2019, and names such as Gore, Have A Nice Life, Heilung, Louise Lemón, Midnight, Seven That Spells, Vile Creature, have been announced. Doom metal greats Bell Witch have booked a full a European tour for this fall. Each night they will perform their 2017 album, Mirror Reaper, in full. The 83-minute opus was released via Profound Lore. All dates are on sale now.
Mirror Reaper live at previous shows, the full album has only been performed once in full, at this year’s Roadburn Festival – complete with visuals created by Taylor Bednarz, and vocals from Aerial Ruin’s Erik Moggridge. This full-scale performance will be replicated in its entirety at a number of special, seated shows across Europe at the end of the year.
The band comments:
“We performed the first half of Mirror Reaper this past April in much of Europe, and we’re very excited to return and perform the album in it’s entirety. This will feature Erik Moggridge of Aerial Ruin performing in the second half of the song with us. It’s humbling to have gotten such a positive reaction to this album from so many people.”
In late 2017, director, Taylor Bednarz, created a feature-length music video to accompany the Mirror Reaper album. The trailer for the film is available to view here.

Crowbar has announced they will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its classic 1998 album, Odd Fellows Rest, by performing it in its entirety on August 4 at the Southport Hall in New Orleans. The band also performed the album this spring at Roadburn Festival and much of it on tour this spring in America. The August show will serve as the final Crowbar show for bassist Todd “Sexy T” Strange (also ex-Down), who will no longer be the group’s touring bassist. Strange helped co-found the band and had returned to it in 2016 after stepping down in the year 2000. Frontman Kirk Windstein has said the band is working on new music for a 2019 release. At this past weekend’s Roadburn FestivalCave In‘sStephen Brodsky and Adam McGrath reunited to pay tribute to their late bassist and vocalist Caleb Scofield who died in a car accident in March. The two played stripped-down versions of classic Cave In songs and covers Caleb liked at the Het Patronet venue, which frontman Brodsky told some stories about each song relating to Caleb. As Roadburn 2018 approaches the announcements get cooler and cooler! Each year at Roadburn an iconic set from a past festival edition is immortalised in wax as a limited run on Roadburn Records and this year it will be a very special release, Bell Witch Live at Roaburn 2015. The set featured original drummer Adrien Guerra. The set at Het Patronaat was captured and mixed by Marcel van de Vondervoort before being mastered by James Plotkin. Rising Finish doom band Dark Buddha Rising has announced their new album, II EP, due for release on April 20th from Neurot Recordings. The band has booked some live appearances, including the prestigious Roadburn Festival next month. As part of their appearance at Roadburn, they will team up with their countrymen Oranssi Pazuzu in a collaborative group dubbed the Waste Of Space Orchestra.
