Hardcore/Hip-Hop band Dog Eat Dog have booked a 25th anniversary tour of Europe! Presented by Kingstar Music the band will hit the road later this month and play dates in November and December as well. Play Games was the bands second full-length album released in 1996 on Roadrunner and yielded three singles, “Isms,” “Rocky,” and “Step Right In.” The current incarnation of the band released the Brand New Breed EP in 2017 via Metalville Records.

Cape Town-based Rap Metallers Ill System have a brand-=new video for their new single “Rock Bottom” out now via Mongrel Records. Politically charged with killer grooves and great lyrical flows, the band also leans heavily on their use of native African instrumentations, such as Djembe and Bongo percussion. (HED) P.E. releases a solidly decent album with Class of 2020 (Suburban Noize Records). The band, hailing from Southern California, truly embodies the eclectic skater vibe of the area. The album is a mix of rock, funk, and rap. Jared Gomes, Jeremiah Stratton, Kurt Blankenship, DJ Blackard, and Chad Benekos are a tight outfit, and Class of 2020 has no wasted riffage.
Success has a way of messing with a good band. First world problems compared to the millions of bands that never make it, sure. However, so often when an emerging band that has fast become a genre leader, big corporate record labels can foul up the flow. This was almost the case of White Pony by Deftones, and the case where the hype was lived up to by pencil pushers, bean counters, and greed almost wrecked the game. White Pony is the band’s pivotal third album, where they built off the stylistic changes that came in with Around The Fur (Maverick) and pushed their sound further than before. In the process, they severed themselves far from the Nu-Metal wave that was exploding at the time and firmly created a new camp of “Deftones Music” as a category.
