ALBUM REVIEW: Amiensus – Reclamation
The geography of Minnesota is described as being a largely woodland abundant area and, famously, waters, often referred to as “The land of 10,000 lakes”. Such scenery has become synonymous with Black Metal; in particular some of the genre’s more melodic bands as well as acts such as Amorphis (albeit the latter has only A Thousand Lakes). It is no surprise then that visuals of Minnesota would also create such Black Metal, with Amiensus’ roots being in the state. Also, much like some of their similar sounding peers, the likes of Reclamation (M-Theory Audio) are also a somewhat immersive experience which feels ready for the outdoors.Continue reading
Panopticon Re-issue Special Edition of “Roads To The North” for Its 10 Year Anniversary
Panopticon are re-issuing their Roads to the North this April 12th, to celebrate its tenth anniversary. The sixth album from the band, it is the second part of a trilogy, long out of print on vinyl. The re-release will come as a special edition via the Bindrune and Nordvis record labels, featuring new and expanded artwork with liner notes and lyrics for the first time. The mid-Atlantic’s premier camping music festival, Shadow Woods Metal Fest, returns this summer on August 27th and 28th 2021, just one hour north of Baltimore. More than 20 bands on two stages over two nights for its fifth edition. Early bands announced include Panopticon, Destroyer of Light, Neolithic, Borracho, Witchcryer, Voarm, Traitor, Altar And the Bull, Queen Wolf, with more to be named soon. Tickets are on sale and the event is limited in capacity with strict social distancing measures and more.
