Alabama is a state with a very well-known identity and stereotype, often ascribed as being synonymous with the uneducated, right-wing conservative types. It is aspirational that the hardcore troup, No Cure, want to change that for the better. Fans of late-night host and comedy icon Jimmy Kimmel are demanding a formal apology following Knocked Loose’s performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! show this week, which featured the rising metal band, and guest star Poppy! the performance has thrilled fans the world over, and has also caused a backlash among viewers after the show’s taping! Fans have flocked to social media and forums demanding a formal apology from Kimmel, claiming the broadcast gave “inadequate context” and “didn’t align with the tone” they expected. FESTIVAL NEWS: Slipknot, Till Lindemann (Rammstein), Knocked Loose, Hatebreed, Poison The Well, Gwar, Vended, Dying Wish, and More Set to Perform at Knotfest Iowa Today


Knotfest Iowa is upon us. Today the globally renowned event has revealed its 2024 lineup including the hometown return of Slipknot, the festival’s headliner and founders.  With a unique set drawing heavily from their 1999 debut, Slipknot will celebrate 25 years of the self-titled album along with their fans, in the band’s birthplace of Iowa.  The band just played their first two shows with their new lineup in California outside of a small bar and at Sick New World Festival!

In addition to Slipknot, the fest features Till Lindemann from Rammstein, Kentucky’s vibrant hardcore/metal forerunners Knocked Loose, metalcore influencers Hatebreed and Poison The Well, heavy metal icons GWAR, Des Moines natives Vended, in addition to Dying Wish, Zulu, Twin Temple, Holy Wars, Swollen Teeth and Spine & Dose. Watch Fan-Filmed Video of Slipknot Kicking Off Their 25th Anniversary Tour, New Masks, New Jumpsuits, Set-List and No Material Written After 1999 Played


Slipknot kicked off their 25th anniversary “Here Comes The Pain” tour tonight, Tuesday, August 6th, in Noblesville, Indiana at the Ruoff Music Center. As promised the band performed the entire self-titled debut album and only tracks released before 1999. Some of the tracks have not been performed in years, or in some cases, over two decades. The tour also marks the first full national tour dates with Eloy Casagrande on drums, and the unknown replacement for Craig Jones, who has retired. Vocalist Corey Taylor issued a statement prior to the show (as filmed by Joshua Toomey): “I’m going to give you a brief warning, nothing you are about to hear tonight was written before 1999.”
