Roadburn 2020 has made a slew of announcements of news bands! Added to both James Kent and Emma Ruth Rundle’s curated portions of the festival is Alcest, on the strength of their new album Spiritual Instinct (Nuclear Blast). Roadburn 2020 is shaping up to be a music fest of the ages, which is saying a lot, considering the deep history of greatness here. Jo Quail Shares New Video For ‘Reya Pavan’, Vinyl Reissue Out This Friday


Cello phenom and acclaimed artist Jo Quail has just shared a new music video for the new single ‘Reya Pavan’. The track is an exclusive on the vinyl reissue for her album Exsolve. Released on 4th October through Jo’s own label, AdderStone Records, the double vinyl edition of Exsolve has been specially remastered for this format. The video was filmed by Khaled Lowe and Sam Edwards which you can see below. Quail just concluded a tour with Emma Ruth Rundle, will appear at Damnation Festival 2019 and will open for Mono on their special shows this winter. Quail will also perform at Roadburn 2020.

Mono Books Exclusive London 20th Anniversary Show with Orchestra and Special Guests


Avant-garde Metal legends Mono will invade London this December to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary. The band will curate the “Beyond The Past” event, headline the Barbican in London on 14th December with an orchestra and they’ll be joined by specials guests Alcest. As part of the anniversary, they are also curating two other shows that weekend with Boris, envy, Arabrot, and Svalbard playing Oval Space on the 13th and then a matinee show on the 14th featuring Nordic Giants, Jo Quail, A.A Williams, and Floating Spectrum at the Underground. Opeth, Birds In Row, Lord Dying, Wheel, Imperial Triumphant and More Booked For Damnation Festival 2019


Long-running UK Metal festival Damnation has announced their first headliner for later this year, along with other bands. Opeth will headline the fest, hopefully supporting their as yet unannounced new album. Also added to the fest are Birds In Row, Lord Dying, Wheel, Imperial Triumphant, Jo Quail, Alunah, Dawn Ray’d and Godeater. Eighteen more bands are yet to be revealed, so we will bring you that news as it happens. The fest takes place on the 19th of November, at Leeds University Union. Mono Books Spring Tour of Europe, New Album Incoming


Metal legends Mono are releasing their brand new album, Nowhere Now Here, produced by Steve Albini (Nirvana), on 25th January via Pelagic Records. Now they have booked a headline tour of Europe to support the album, on top of their highly anticipated appearance at Roadburn 2019. Prognosis Festival takes flight this spring with a stacked lineup! Hear Myrkur Reinterpret Danish Folk Song “Bonden og Kragen”, New EP Out This Week


 

Ahead of the release of her new EP, Juniper, this Friday, December 7th on Relapse Records, Myrkur has shared her recorded interpretation of Danish folk song ‘Bonden og Kragen’, a.k.a. ‘Kragevise’. This isn’t the first time Myrkur has taken on classic songs from her ancestral lore, each time making it uniquely her own. She will carry this concept deeper into 2019 with special “Folesange” concerts, at festivals like Roadburn. Check it out and catch Myrkur on her new Scandinavian tour dates kicking off tonight in Gothenburg, at the Pustervik club.
