Swedish symphonic metal quartet, Tungsten have unveiled their new single, “The Grand Inferno.” Accompanied by a music video, it is the title track and final song to be taken from their upcoming album. The full-length is due to hit the shelves on November 8, via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM) records. Check out the new video and more below.

In a groundbreaking event, Finnish Metal icons Swallow The Sun featuring the Avant-Garde Ballet Finland are set to present their collaborative performance, “Plague of Butterflies”, during 70000TONS OF METAL in 2025. This unique performance will make its World Premiere outside of Finland in January 2025, on board The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise, with two separate presentations of the work occurring whilst on board. The organizers of the 70000Tons Of Metal festival have announced the public sales for their 2025 edition will start Thursday, July 11th 2024 at 12PM EDT (9AM PDT, 18:00 CEST/17:00 GMT+1).​  The heavy metal cruise, featuring Sepultura, Emperor, Unleash The Archers, Decapitated, Hammerfall, Tankard, and more, sets sail from Miami, FL to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and back, taking place from January 30th to February 3rd, 2025. ALBUM REVIEW: Portrait – The Host


 

For their sixth full-length studio release, Swedish metallers Portrait journey to the land of the concept album in order to conjure up a tale of sword and sorcery set in the seventeenth century. Their first full-blown conceptual release, The Host (Metal Blade) is not an entirely fictional piece but also inspired partly by historic events, with the band imparting the tale of an unnamed protagonist seeking strength after encountering injustice and hypocrisy.

FESTIVAL REVIEW: Milwaukee Metal Fest 2024 Part 2 – Live at The Rave


The lineup for Saturday was stacked, in my opinion,  headliner Mr. Bungle left the Milwaukee crowd in awe. Mike Patton is such a great front man so I felt privileged to watch this man perform again.  San Francisco Thrash Metal legends Testament has one of the best performances I had ever seen them give in years. Connecticuts’ own Hatebreed ignited the ballroom with numerous mosh pits throughout their set. Continue reading
