Following their Summer run crisscrossing the continent with their metal comrades in Ghost, Swedish heavy metal icons Amon Amarth will return to US and Canadian stages this Spring on the Metal Crushes All Tour 2024 produced by Live Nation; the band’s biggest North American tour to date! Direct support will come from Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Frozen Soul.
Modern metal legends just concluded their debut voyage of their Headbangers Ball Cruise, and now have announced the first bands booked for the 2024 edition. Sailing on the Norwegian Gem ship and cruising to the Dominican Republic, the 2024 cruise will feature Lamb Of God, along with Dethklok, Chimaira, Poison The Well, At The Gates, Soulfly, Corrosion of Conformity and many more. The full lineup so far is below but the exact dates of the cruise are not yet announced. The cruise is organized by Sixthman (Chris Jericho, Coheed and Cambria cruises), which is in partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line. There will also be an appearance by Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton’s solo band, as well as stand-up comedy by Shayne Smith and Mike Abrusci. Watch the announcement now by D. 2023 continues to prove itself as a year of strong death metal as Horrendous drops their fifth album Ontological Mysterium (Season of Mist) and the Philly headbangers might have the year’s best death metal album on their hands, perhaps a bold statement given the fine releases the year has seen from the likes of Obituary, Frozen Soul, Creeping Death, Cattle Decapitation and Outer Heaven.
Final preparations are ready for this weekend’s Bloodstock Open Air, kicking off today, the 10th of August through the 14th at Catton Park, Derbyshire. Sad news as Helloween has been forced out of the fest due to a last-minute illness. They are being replaced by KK’s Priest, led by former Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing. The Rave/Eagles Club is an acclaimed live entertainment complex located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a one-of-a-kind spot to catch a heavy metal show. The multi-stage and multi-floor building has a fascinating history and many music groups consider playing there a “rite of passage” as performers. The Milwaukee Metal Fest was launched in 1987 by music enthusiast and promoter Jack Koshick, which became one of the most renowned festivals for the heavy genres in the 1990s and early 2000s. All the greats from Slayer to Meshuggah to the Misfits were all part of the impressive lineups throughout the years until it shut down in 2004. After being absent for nearly twenty years, the fest has been brought back to life by Hatebreed‘s Jamey Jasta. He bought the rights in 2022 and put together a fest to take place on Memorial Day weekend at The Rave with some of the scene’s biggest bands. Continue reading
