Fleshgod Apocalypse has announced bassist and vocalist Paolo Rossi has departed from the lineup permanently. A founding member of the band, Rossi has been in the band since 2007, but has been on hiatus since 2023. Rossi has decided to pursue a career job outside of music, after it sounds like he exhausted every possibility to try to stay in the music business full time. The spilt is amicable and doesn’t sound like a surprise to the band, according to their statement on social media. Fleshgod Apocalypse will move forward as a five-piece, with vocalist Francesco Paoli moving to playing bass alongside his vocal duties, and Veronica Bordacchini covering all clean vocals. This Georgia-based band is known for their unconventional methods of banging out heavy riffs while proclaiming a positive message. ALBUM REVIEW: Bekor Qilish – Throes Of Death From The Dreamed Nihilism
As though transmitted from a parallel dimension, Throes Of Death From The Dreamed Nihilism (I, Voidhanger Records) – the debut record by Bekor Qilish – is a strange and magnificent avant-garde metal beast. The brainchild of Italian vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Andrea Bruzzone, Bekor Qilish is a solo project, aided by a smattering of key collaborators — who add colour to Bruzzone’s already mesmeric creation. Whether the term “extreme” or “avant-garde” fits better, Throes Of Death From The Dreamed Nihilism is a whirlwind of creativity and impressive technicality.

In more Coronavirus cancellation news, Fleshgod Apocalypse is the latest band feeling the sting of the global health crisis. Due to travel restrictions implemented in response to the spread of COVID-19, “Coronavirus” the bands’ highly anticipated tour with a classical string quartet for the first time ever, will now take place at a later date to be announced as plans are confirmed.
