Thy Art is Murder Fires CJ McMahon, New Album Out Now


 

Thy Art is Murder has fired controversial vocalist Chris “CJ” McMahon and replaced him on their new album Godlike with an as yet unnamed new front person. The album was released today via Nuclear Blast Records as a surprise with the new vocalist.  CJ was fired for his recent transphobic comments and a history of other issues, setting him at odds with the band.

Thy Art Is Murder’s CJ McMahon Drops off Tour for the Birth Of His Child


Good news/bad news out of the Thy Art is Murder camp. The band is currently on tour in the USA with Architects and While She Sleeps, but vocalist CJ will drop off the tour and return home to be with his wife for the impending birth of their child. Tonight in Philadelphia will be his last show of the tour, missing the final week of dates. Nicholas Arthur of Molotov Solution will fill in on vocals. Caliban- Elements


With around twenty years and now eleven albums to their name, it is safe to say that Caliban are Metalcore stalwarts. Yet they remain one of the genre’s overlooked, even near forgotten, names. Having never reached the commercial success or the attention levels of the likes of a Killswitch Engage back in the day, the current resurgence in Metalcore today still sees them majorly overshadowed whilst While She Sleeps, Of Mice & Men and others ascend, even as far as to arena level in the latter’s case. Nevertheless, Caliban has always proven to be a reliable entity who continuously deliver strong (if not ground-breaking nor game-changing) material, with The Undying Darkness (All Blacks) and Say Hello To Tragedy (Century Media) being particularly strong efforts.Continue reading
