Apocalyptica Shares their Single and Video of Their New Cover of Metallica’s “One” ft. James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo


Apocalyptica previously announced the sequel to their legendary debut record. Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2, releasing on June 7th, 2024 via Throwdown Entertainment / BMG Music, will continue the journey that began in 1996 when cellists from Helsinki’s world-renowned Sibelius Academy played symphonic tribute to the biggest of the big four–heavy metal titans Metallica. The band has now shared their new cover of the Metallica classic “One” – their first big hit, reveled an updated own James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo! Trujillo, also already featured on the previous single “The Four Horseman!” For their ninth record the classically-minded dynamos are returning to their roots to bring a legendary story full circle. “One” will be the next single off of the album. This will be the final album for drummer Mikko Sirén, who is stepping down from the band. It also features a host of surprises beginning with a unique collaboration. Richie Kotzen Shares His New Single and Video “Cheap Shots” and Books US Tour Dates



Richie Kotzen has announced a new run of U.S. tour dates, kicking off on September 13th at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, and ending on November 2nd in Dallas, TX at the Granada Theater. He also plays two warm up shows in Southern California at The Canyon Montclair in Montclair on May 17th and at The Canyon Agoura Hills in Agoura Hills on May 18th, followed by a European tour. Japanese instrumental rock band, Mono, have just shared their latest single, “Run On,” with a video directed by Dalian-based artist, Jiang Kun. It is the second single taken from their 12th album, Oath. The full-length is due out on June 14th, via Temporary Residence Ltd. records in North America, Pelagic Records in Europe, and New Noise records in China). Harm’s Way Drop a New Video for “Terrorizer” – On Tour Now



Chicago’s Harm’s Way have unleashed a video for their song “Terrorizer.” The track comes from the band’s most recent full-length, Common Suffering, which was released last Fall via Metal Blade Records. Amorphis Share a Live Single and Video for “Drowned Maid” – New Live Album Coming Soon


To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their landmark album, Tales From The Thousand Lakes, Amorphis have announced a live album and concert film of the record. Available on Blu-ray+CD and vinyl, it was recorded at the iconic Tavastia Club in Helsinki, Finland, and comes out July 12th, via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). The band have also released the track “Drowned Maid (Live At Tavastia)” as a single and video, giving a taste of the live album. Check it out below and read more.

Today and every day at Ghost Cult, we honor Ronnie James Dio who died fourteen years ago – on May 16th, 2010. He died after a long bout with stomach cancer. His incredible voice and enduring personality is synonymous with the metal genre. As a singer, with his own solo band Dio, as well as his legacy with Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, Rainbow, and Elf, he was the inspiration of countless singers to follow in his footsteps. Dio gave heavy metal a lot of its fantasy elements thematically in the Power Metal and Symphonic Metal genres. He is responsible for countless genre classics, both songs, and albums, including his first album with Black Sabbath: Heaven, and Hell (Vertigo). Countless Dio-inspired bands operate today named for his songs or lyrics, there are charity events, tribute tours, and charity events that raise money to try to cure the disease that took his life, and even a major metal festival stage at Bloodstock Open Air is named for his memory. Let’s raise those horns to Dio today!
