Say what you will about Deathcore, it is nothing if not persistent. Not that the idea of mixing Death Metal and Hardcore is a new one (i.e., Suffocation) but when the term deathcore is applied today it recalls the halcyon years between 2007 and 2012 when a young man’s worth was determined by his throat tattoo, the size of his gauges and his MySpace networking skills. If you had a pig squeal, a breakdown and a dream it seemed like you too could be handed an Earache Records deal. But when did that dream end? Turnstile to Host Theatrical Screening of New Short Film with New Music
Genre-bending Hardcore band Turnstile has announced theatrical screenings for their new short film, “Turnstile Love Connection.” The short film will premiere at Brain Dead Studios in Los Angeles, CA on June 26th and contain new unreleased music from the band. The free event will feature continuous showings of the short film from 12:00PM – 5:00PM PT and will be open to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis. Brain Dead Studios is an experiential space collaboratively curated by the Brain Dead family and located at 611 N. Fairfax Ave., the site of the historic Silent Movie Theater site in Los Angeles. Additional details on the event will be announced soon. The band recently dropped a brand new single, “Mystery,” their first since their 2018 album Time & Space Roadrunner Records).
Slipknot, Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb of God, $uicide Boy$, Gojira, Trivium and More Booked for Knotfest Iowa 2021
As usual, Slipknot does what other bands cannot. The band is bringing back their Knotfest event back home as Knotfest Iowa this September and it features a ton of bands such as The full line-up features Slipknot headlining, with Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, $uicide Boy$, Gojira, Trivium, Tech N9ne, FEVER 333, Knocked Loose, Turnstile, Gatecreeper, and Vended. The event will be the biggest heavy music festival to ever hit the mid-western state and will be held at National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola, IA, on Saturday, September 25th. Tickets will be available on pre-sale to Knotfest.com subscribers from 10am Central time on today (Tues, May 25th), with a general on-sale from 10am Central on June 4th, at the link below. Slipknot has also announced they have returned to the studio to record their new album.
