Slipknot has expanded its Knotfest festival brand to Australia! Talking place ion March of 2023, the event will hit Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne! Headlined by Slipknot, the festival line-up includes Parkway Drive, Megadeth, Trivium, Northlane, Amon Amarth, In Flames, Knocked Loose, Spiritbox, Story Of The Year, Alpha Wolf, Void Of Vision, Bad Omens, and Malevolence. Darkest Hour has announced the “Death To False Metalcore” tour of Canada this Winter. Unearth will co-headline and The Agony Scene will provide direct support. The bands performing across Eastern Canada from January 31st through February 8th. Tickets are on sale now. Darkest Hour and Unearth then head over to Europe with Misery Signals, Malevolence, and Left Behind supporting them from March 21st through April 1st. Malevolence – Self Supremacy

Much like with my last review, I’m walking in cold to Malevolence’s Self Supremacy (BDHW). I didn’t even know they were British. That said, reading tracks like ‘Trial by Fire’ and ‘Spineless’ I thought I might have to find myself playing the role of lyric police… and there are lyrical improvements to be made, as we learn on ‘Severed Ties’ that “you have to cut the grass to find the fucking snakes.” Not the most enlightening sentence ever, but the superb musicianship will certainly capture listener attention. Continue reading →
