Contrary to popular belief, Pop Punk and Emo are far from dead and buried. There are tons of true-school cool pocket scenes all over with great bands and fans supporting the hell out of them. One of best bands that have come from the underground recently to earn props is Grumpster from Oakland. ALBUM REVIEW: Sylosis – Cycle of Suffering
So, Cycle of Suffering (Nuclear Blast) is Sylosis‘ post-hiatus album? Ghost Cult caught up with Thrash Metal legend Bobby Gustafson recently for an interview. You know the name and the riffs of the man from his time in Overkill, but also Spudmonsters, and Cycle Sluts from Hell among others. Booby’s new band Satan’s Taint released their Thrashy new album Destruction Ritual earlier this year and it has many of the hallmarks of his classic songwriting style. We chatted about many topics with Bobby, including some metal history lessons you don’t want to miss!
Worshipper – Light in the Wire
It just was never meant to be. These aren’t just the rantings of a polluted mind, but my sincere consensus after giving Worshipper‘s sophomore effort Light in the Wire (Tee Pee Records) a few spins. ‘Coming Through’ gets things started and feeling like we’re entering a Baroness type soundscape and I with weed pen in hand await with bated breath.
