Aftershock Festival 2023 Books Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn Godsmack, Pantera, Incubus, Queens Of The Stone Age, Limp Bizkit

The West Coast’s Biggest Rock Festival, Aftershock, grows even more in 2023 with its most packed lineup yet offering 95-plus bands over four full days, led by headliners Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, and Korn. The destination event, held at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA on October 5-8, builds on last year’s record-setting success including an audience of 160,000 music fans and bringing in nearly $30 million to the region. The festival is headlined by Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Godsmack, Pantera, Incubus, Queens Of The Stone Age, Limp Bizkit, with Megadeth, Rancid, Turnstile, 311, The Cult, and many more! EP REVIEW: Snayx – Weaponised Youth: Part 1

Weaponised Youth is the new self-released EP from Brighton-based two-piece Snayx, a band who are fully engaging the cheepy- chappie Electro-Pop-Rock sound that fits right in with the weekend vibe of their seaside hometown. The idea for Snayx was initially bubbling away in conversation between friends Charlie Herridge and Ollie Corner, when the opportunity arose for them to support local south-coast punks Kid Kapichi and the two decided they’d better get some songs together.

Mantar to Release Covers Album, Shares Video for Mazzy Star Cover

Germany’s two-piece blackened crust band Mantar has announced that they are releasing a mini-covers album focusing on the 1990s, Grungetown Hooligans II, June 26th on LP/Digital via Brutal Panda Records and can be pre-ordered at the link below. Also, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mazzy Star’s release of their seminal debut album, Mantar have shared a music video for their cover of ‘Ghost Highway’, which you can see below.

ALBUM REVIEW: Blackwater Holylight – Veils Of Winter

Blackwater Holylight (RidingEasy Records), the début album from the Portland, Oregon-based doomstresses of the same name, delivered not merely an enlivening quality but also realised founder member Alison ‘Sunny’ Faris‘ intent of giving heavier rock a new lease of life by incorporating more tuneful, lighter music into that sound. With second album Veils Of Winter (RidingEasy Records) the band, now a quintet with the addition of guitarist Mikayla Mayhew, aim to expand on that formula and the buzz created by that first release.

Punk Documentary Series From Iggy Pop and John Varvatos Debuts on Epix

Punk, a new documentary series made its debut on the EPIX channel tonight. Produced by Iggy Pop and designer and music mogul John Varvatos, Punk is a four-part series that explores the birth of Punk Rock. A huge assemblage of stars has come together including Pop, Varvatos, John Lydon (Sex Pistols, Public Image Ltd), Henry Rollins (Black Flag), Marky Ramone (Ramones), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters/Nirvana), Duff McKagan (Guns n’ Roses), Donita Sparks (L7),director Penelope Spheeris (The Decline of Western Civilization), Joan Jett, Danny Fields, Legs McNeil, Wayne County, Keith Morris (Black Flag/Circle Jerks/OFF), Debbie Harry and Chris Stein (Blondie), Wayne County, Flea and many more. It may become a recurring series since the listing on EPIX refers to it as “Season 1”. L7 Shares New Video for “Burn Baby” New Album Coming In May

Legendary 1990s rockers L7 have come together and created a new album, due out this May 3rd, from Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records. Scatter The Rats promises to pick up where the icons last left off. The album was produced by Norm Block (JennyLee, Paper Cranes, Plexi) and Nick Launay (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) at Happy Ending Studios and Sunset Sound In Los Angeles. They just dropped a new single and video “Burn Baby”, created by Blue Hats Creative and directed by Courtney and Hillary Andujar. As we previously announced, the band is playing Download 2019 and is planning more tours. L7 Smashes Their Crowdfunding Goal, New Album Incoming

Legendary 1990s alternative rock band L7 reunited for several tours the last few year, performing at Download Festival UK, made the documentary Pretend We’re Dead, and the vibe went so well that the band decided to make a new album. They have already cut several tracks and will release more music soon, as well as hit the studio to record the full-length.
