Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly has announced its flagship event for 2023, taking place once again at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. Taking place April 14-15, 2023, co-headlining the festival are Suicidal Tendencies (performing a special 40th anniversary set of the S/T album + hits) and the return of The Black Dahlia Murder. Joining them will be EyeHateGod, Incantation, Mizmor, Frozen Soul, All Out War, Undeath, and more! Tickets go on sale this Friday October 21st, 2022.

Death metal has been a constant in my life for well over 30 years (yes, I’m a bit old). Within that time frame Incantation and Nile have been an integral part of that genre and have consistently released album after killer album. So, when they announced The Age of Vile Divinities Tour, I knew I couldn’t miss it. The openers for this tour are Dallas, Texas I Am, and Columbus, Ohio’s Sanguisugabogg– both new up and comers to the metal scene.

Incantation is one of those bands that every metalhead knows about. Hailing from the East Coast, these guys have been around for over thirty years and have always made their presence known in the scene. From consistent album releases to endless touring, Incantation is an act that has dedicated everything to their craft. These veteran players continue to carry the banner for old school American Death Metal on their eleventh full-length, Sect of Vile Divinities (Relapse Records). Members of Down, Exodus, Sepultura, Crowbar, Eyehategod, Incantation, and More Unite For Fundraiser Benefiting Senior Dogs


Ninety-nine metal musicians recently united to sing a verse of “99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall” for charity. Launched by Derek Engemann (Scour, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals) and John Jarvis (Scour, Agoraphobic Nosebleed) as a means to help senior dogs, all proceeds from the twenty-three-minute track benefit Old Dog Haven, an organization that helps provide foster care for older dogs committed to the belief that all senior dogs should live peacefully in their final years as members of a caring family. Among the 100 artists featured are Down, Exodus, Sepultura, Crowbar, Eyehategod, Incantation. Watain Guitarist Pelle Forsberg Denied Entry into US, Band forced To Miss Tonight’s Show in Houston


Swedish Black Metal greats Waitain have run into trouble trying to enter the USA for their tour beginning tonight in Houston, TX with Morbid Angel and Incantation. According to a lengthy post to Facebook, the band’s guitarist was detained, interrogated and mistreated by US Border Authorities sent guitarist Pelle Forsberg back to Mexico, where he was staying prior to the first tour date in Houston. The post claims that the authorities used Google Search to find evidence that Pelle was anti-American should not be allowed in the country, despite having a current and active work Visa and entering for five prior visits without incident. The rest of the band also had issues entering the country but managed to get in today after rebooking flights and having lawyers advocate for them. and without their guitarist, they will perform as a reconfigured four-piece. The band will miss tonight’s show in Houston.Continue reading


Morbid Angel Books US Headlining Tour With Watain And Incantation


Death metal legends Morbid Angel have booked a fall headlining tour. The 2019 USA Sickness Tour begins November 21st in Houston, Texas and runs through December 21st in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
