Lollapalooza has announced its daily lineups for the 2022 festival in Chicago this July! Headliners include Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, Green Day, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Baby, Kygo, along with Jane’s Addiction, Glass Animals, Billy Strings, Big Sean, The Kid Laroi, Jazmine Sullivan, Don Toliver, Charli XCX, Idles, Turnstile, Kaskade, Rezz, and many more. ALBUM REVIEW: Out of Love – So Far, So Good

Less than one minute into the opening track ‘S.L.U.M.P.’, we are cast back to the heady days of the late nineties. Brit Rock is still around, though making way to a new breed of cats as the melodic punk of the US is becoming a strong bed-fellow with the slightly quirkier variant from the other side of the Atlantic, and bands like Ash, the multiple off-shoots from The Wildhearts, and more are spawning and bursting out and creating a scene. It was a fertile time of fun and creativity as the last vestiges of cardigans and sixth-form grunge cottoned onto the fun and febrile feel of a Cool Britannia.

Machine Head performed another of their lockdown-era “Electric Happy Hour” sessions where Robb Flynn is often joined by bassist Jared MacEachern. They perform a new set every Friday. This week featured “Locust”, Block”, “The Burning Red”, and the deep cut “Heavy Lies The Crown”, plus covers of Black Sabbath – “Children Of The Grave”, and Green Day – “Welcome To Paradise”, plus Robb proposes a challenge/ experiment for the ladies, and gave a shoutout to Ghost Cult!

The fest could have been an unmitigated disaster that would have made Fyre festival look good. However, it would have a lasting cultural impact even the future decades rode on. In the early days of the internet, people used common words and phrases like sex, Jesus, 12345, first names, their birthdays, pets names, and even their own home addresses were a common password combo for users. These were also easily guessed, let alone super-hackable once more sophisticated tools were developed. Now in a damning new report, not only are these old standbys still in use, but the names of many major rock and metal bands are on a list of the most vulnerable passwords in the world. The National Cyber Security Centre of the UK (NCSC) just posted their new report with some alarming info. According to the global password risk assessment index, Blink-182 is the most common vulnerable password in the world at 23 million instances of use. This led Mark Hoppus to tweet about it! Also on the list are bands like Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Green Day, Slipknot, Nirvana, Sum 41, and Iron Maiden among others.
