ALBUM REVIEW: Lockjaw – Relentless


 

Setting what surely must be some sort of record, Texan metalcore merchants Lockjaw finally release their full-length studio debut twenty-five years after coming into existence. Formed in 1998, the band garnered a decent live reputation but disappeared shortly into the 2000s. Reactivated with a little tweaking in the personnel department, the independently released ‘Deadlights’ single appeared in 2018 followed by four more songs released over 2021 and 2022. Always moving towards a full-length album, Lockjaw 2.0 now deliver on that promise with Relentless (AISAUS/The Orchard), a record sure to please many a groove metal enthusiast.

Corey Taylor to Release a New Solo Single and Video Next Week – “Beyond,” Shares Behind The Scenes Video 


Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor recently announced his signing to BMG music with his own imprint Decibel Cooper and his forthcoming second full-length studio solo album – CMFT2. He has shared behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot for the track “Beyond” which you can see below. The track “Beyond” is due out next week on May 16th and it is not entirely new, but a reworking of a previous song performed by Taylor with his Corey Tayor & The Junk Beer Kidnap Band in 2009 on tour, but never officially released. Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Completes Recording His Second Solo Album


 

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has completed recording his new solo album, his second, at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, where he lives. Taylor began tracking the follow-up to 2020’s CMFT (Roadrunner Records) album in January with longtime producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Steel Panther). Corey’s bassist Eliot Lorango posted the news to his Instagram with a few photos. In addition to CMFT in 2020, Taylor released CMFB…Sides, via Roadrunner Records last year. Taylor has said previously his solo work will stand alongside his time in Slipknot, and record and tour fully to support these projects. Stone Sour is officially on hiatus.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Begins Recording His Second Solo Album


 

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has entered the studio to begin recording his second solo album. Producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax) is once again helming the recording. Slipknot is releasing their “lost” album this spring, and has heavy touring plans for this year, while Stone Sour is on an extended hiatus. Read our review of Corey’s last album CMFT, here. Slipknot to Release Their Lost Album – “Look Outside Your Window” in Spring 2023


As previously reported, Slipknot had recorded an as yet unreleased album Look Outside Your Window, recorded at the same time as All Hope Is Gone (Roadrunner Records). The record was created with the lineup of percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, vocalist Corey Taylor, guitarist Jim Root, and DJ Sid Wilson. The band last teased the release of their lost album around Christmas Day 2019, but still remains unaired. In a new interview with The Upshot, and reported by Metal Injection, Clown has shared,  Slipknot might release Look Outside Your Window shortly after their contract with Roadrunner Records officially ends on April 1. The record could release at any time after their deal is finished. Slipknot released their controversial new album The End, So Far in 2022.
