LIVESTREAM REVIEW: Puscifer – Existential Reckoning – Live at The Arcosanti
Theatrical Rock troupe Puscifer never does anything small and never has. Everything they do feels like an event level thing in an “it’s all happening” way. In the early days of the band, it was singles and EP’s before their debut album. Then it was a Paul Frank clothing drop or a few shows. Now, even in these trying times choking the music industry, the band finds creative ways to top themselves. They just released their new album, Existential Reckoning (read our review here) and for Halloween, they shared a visually striking, possibly insane, and high-quality multi-media livestream performance, Existential Reckoning – Live at The Arcosanti in the Arizona desert.
Maynard James Keenan To Open New Wine Tasting Bar In Scottsdale Arizona
While most fans of Tool, a perfect circle, and Puscifer singer Maynard James Keenan complain about their first world problems like waiting for a new Tool album, Keenan’s real long time passion is wine. Through his brand Caduceus Cellars and his stake in Merkin Vineyards, he has brought an old world vintners’ sensibility, to the arid climes of Arizona for over a decade. According to Arizona Central and the Republic newspaper, that sensibility is coming to a new tasting store in Scottsdale Arizona. As one of the founding members of a new Arizona winemakers’ alliance, Keenan will help open a tasting shop in Old Town Scottsdale, about 2 hours south of Jerome, where Keenan lives, has his vineyard, and also a Puscifer Store. Merkin Vineyards Old Town location will be singer’s first tasting room in metro Phoenix — will take over the space that most recently housed Counter-Intuitive cocktail bar. Those searching for Arizona wine already can find a handful of tasting rooms in Old Town Scottsdale. But this spring, one of the state’s most famous winemakers will put down roots in the popular dining district. Keenan’s wine is made in the North of the state and distinctively different. The store has a tentative March open date planned. Kennan’s wines can be bought and shipped in the USA to states that allow wine sales, and are often found at concerts and festivals he performs at. The Black Queen – Infinite Games
Supergroup is a term bandied about too much these days, including here at this very website. It’s hard to help it in the streaming music age, which coincidently has also fostered a new openness and freedom for artists to come together as never before. Perhaps we need another terminology to describe these collectives. How about “artistic hive-mind”? That’s one that definitely suits The Black Queen, who is more than a mere musical group, but carry these sensibilities in everything they do from songs and lyrics to album art, videos, t-shirts, and visual performances live. The sum of their recorded output is but one facet of what can be possible when they get together.
